Made some KurtRumi kissies
Oh Veil's official art is so KurtRumi coded
Rumi's style throughout the different eras of the comics + a little blurb about each:
Starting with their introduction in the 60s run of the comics, Rumi has the typical appearance of a female scholar, which makes sense as they're a recent university graduate. Long skirts, ties, button ups under sweaters, trench coats, cardigans, and sweater vests. Their main colours are brown, green, and black. Note; they have not been confirmed as trans at this point.
Next is their appearance in the 70s and 80s. Rumi mostly sticks to their original aesthetic in the 60s, but they look more relaxed and masculine (loose silhouettes). They wear jeans and slacks more often, and loose button ups, more graphic shirts, and less ties. Rumi also begins wearing leather jackets. Lots of blues, blacks, florals, and browns. This is when the subtle trans coding begins, but they still aren't out yet.
Rumi in the 90s to present day would undergo a bigger change; they'd wear a lot of sports jerseys, band tees, baggy jeans/shorts, and the occasional dress. They'd still keep the leather jackets and the cardigans though. They wear a lot more black and dark colours. This is around the time that they're confirmed to be non binary/genderless.
Rumi: If I had a nickel for every time I dated someone whose mutant powers made transportation ten times easier, I'd have three nickels
Rumi: Which isn't a lot but it's genuinely concerning that it happened three times
Rumi the type of person to ask "was my fit hard?" when someone tells them that they had a dream about them
Fun little Rumi tidbit, but in Evolution, Rumi and Kurt don't date, 1. Because I refuse to break him and Amanda up in this verse, and 2. Rumi has a weird enemies to friends to lovers thing going on with Quicksilver
Rumi is essentially a harrowed detective/researcher that dresses like somebody's favorite english teacher or librarian from the 90s, and Kurt is their homme fatale who helps them solve cases.
Love 2 Fast by Steve Lacy is Rumi coded. btw.
