This is for whenever you are next taking prompts, but i just HAD to tell you before I forgot. I know how much you love the Elsa!Emma friendship, and I really really want to see your take on their epic BFF catch up session that you KNOW they'll have as soon as all the Realms come together at the end of season 7 and Arendelle is like 3 miles away. Ty!!
OMG YES! I LOVE THIS! THANK YOU! :D
“Oh my gosh, Emma, she’s precious!” Elsa gave one more smile to tiny, adorable Hope, who was napping in her arms, before raising her eyes to her old friend. “And your house is beautiful and you and Killian are so sweet together and you are positively glowing.”
Emma smiled at her best friend. “Thanks. The royal life seems to be treating you well. You’re so much more confident and happier than the woman I met way back when.”
Elsa eased down on the sofa beside Emma, careful not to jostle little Hope. “Thank you. It’s amazing what a few years of ruling a kingdom will do for your self-confidence.”
Didn’t Emma know it. She may not have ruled a kingdom but it had taken a while for her to come to terms with the responsibility of being the savior. Over the years, she’d worked out a way to do her savioring and still live her life in the meantime. She’d always have those responsibilities but knowing that she didn’t have to go through them alone helped a great deal. “Yeah, I hear you.”
“So,” Elsa said, once again smiling down at baby Hope, “I’ve clearly missed some milestones in your life. What else has happened while I was away?”
A grin tugged at Emma’s lips, partly in amusement at her friend’s way with words and partly due to giddiness that Elsa was here in her living room. Now that Regina had united the realms, it just so happened that Emma could pretty much throw a rock from her porch and hit Arendelle. After years of getting by on the occasional conversation via mirror magic, the two best friends could actually get together for a visit. In person and everything!
This was the first time they’d seen each other in the flesh in years. After giving her best friend a huge hug on the porch, Emma had ushered Elsa inside and nestled little Hope in her arms. Hope was as comfortable with Elsa as Emma was herself; she’d fallen fast asleep in under a minute.
And so the friends told each other everything they could of the years that had passed since they’d last seen each other. Emma told her about sheriffing with Killian, her parents’ farmhouse, how big Neal had gotten, Henry moving away and returning with a family Emma loved before even meeting them. And Elsa told Emma all about how Arendelle was thriving under her peaceful rule and Anna and Kristoff’s own children and how she delighted them with magical shows of swirling snowflakes and dancing ice crystals.
Oh, yes, once Hope was sleeping through the night, the Arendelle-ites definitely needed to come over for some play dates.
“You sound happy,” Emma smiled when Elsa had finally run out of breath.
“As do you,” Elsa said, returning Emma’s smile.
“Who’d’ve thought, huh? You and I both got our happy beginnings.” One that was even happier now that an old friendship had been rekindled.
