Gifted Live
Last night, the Belfast Empire streamed their fortnightly Gifted band night, live on their website. I thought this was a great idea and something that is really moving things forward for the local music scene in Belfast. But no surprise, if you type in #giftedlive on twitter, people are hating on it.

What's the point of #GiftedLive? No benefit to the Empire, only costs money to do. Pointless. Should find a way to charge for stream.
I think this is exactly the kind of attitude that holds Belfast back when it comes to local music and arts in general. This is a guy who is complaining that it was free to stream the event, complaining that it's free?! Last night was brilliant and I really enjoyed watching the show. Kudos to Gifted for pulling it off!
