Nearly everyone in town knew of the death of Annie Astre - it wasn’t exactly something expected, after all. She was a bright girl, bubbly and optimistic, with plenty of dreams and aspirations. It was, at least, better than Annie going missing, destined to a fate of wonder.
Rowan would find herself gravitating towards the cemetery, as if magnetized to it. Any sort of thought or movement to go anywhere else would bring her right back to the graveyard ( you need to go, angel girl, you need to -- ) . The pulling would stop when she found herself at the foot of Annie’s grave. The dirt was shoveled up, any flowers were thrown aside ( they were wilted, but in an odd way, only ashes, as if they were shocked somehow... ) . The coffin was wide open, and there were dirt stains on it.
The grave was dug up, and the body of Annie Astre was missing.
