otp: fairy tales and twinkle lights
This wasn’t a typical first date, but honestly, it seemed like the perfect first date for her and Landon. Even before the movie moment kiss when she’d been crying, or the fairy tale ball moment, they had first connected over Peter Pan. Ruby hadn’t thought too much on it at the time, as she’d been hung up on someone else, but now when she thought back on their conversations about the children’s story, and the fact he had gladly agreed to dress as the Peter to her Tink, she felt foolish for not realizing how special Landon was. She also felt bad that she’d barely paid him much attention at the Halloween party.
Dwelling on that though, wasn’t going to get them anywhere, and one day they’d probably need to have an ‘exes’ conversation (especially if Emma kept being an issue), but for now, she was going to focus on getting wrapped up in her new romance. Because really, Mia was right, she was totally ga-ga over him.
As they’d already kissed, and spoken a lot over skype, and texts since the kiss, the night hadn’t been the usual amount of awkward a first date normally was. At least not so far. The Festival of Lights was gorgeous, and as silly as it sounded, Ruby was glad the date was outside, as she could wear the cute new knit beret, with jewels on the front, she had bought, and her hair out. Which she thought made her look adorable, and that had been the look she was going for, considering it had become way too cold for her to show off her legs, which had been her go to ever since he had admitted he liked to look at them.
Standing under an arch of lights, Ruby looked up at the twinkling colors above them. Smile on her features. “You can’t even see what’s keeping the lights up and in shape.. It just looks like a magical fairyland.”
