Hey, some of us were wondering about the whole "no technology" thing at Hogwarts. We know it was there in the past, but we weren't certain about how it was now, given that muggles know about magic. Like, will they have things such as TV or phones around at Hogwarts?
After a discussion we have decided that the ban on muggle technology remains. Muggle devices will not work at Hogwarts unless they’ve been charmed, however that’s against the law and students caught with such objects will be punished and the object confiscated until the end of the school year.
However, if one of the players would like their muse to own such an object it is possible. You would need to submit to the mods information regarding:
The reason why they have the object
How they came to own it (which has to be within the realms of believability - they have to have enough skill to make an object work within Hogwarts, or be given it by someone who has and also be able to afford it etc.)
Each application will be treated and considered separately and even if you are given the permission for your muse to own such an object, it will be taken from them by a teacher in a thread/event if seen as it’s considered contraband.
The same type of application is required for your muse to be allowed to own a magical object of great value/rarity. Anything that cannot be bought in Diagon Alley for a moderate amount of money should be applied for first, for example: exotic animals, rare potions/books/magical objects, rare potions components, dark magic objects, houses, vehicles etc.
