👀 + What did Terra think of the Returners when she first met them ? [ honest questions ; ACCEPTING ]

[ honestly at first she was... kind of concerned? A little bit wary???

She knew they were on the right side, and Edgar, Sabin and Locke gave her plenty of reasons to trust them. Banon was also very nice, despite being way more blunt than the others... but something still felt off. For the entire year that followed her breaking free from the Empire -- yes, her time in the World of Balance with the others included -- she always resented the idea of having to fight. Terra knew that, despite the fact that they were much nicer and much more focused on saving everyone from Ghestal, most of the Returners saw her in the same way the Empire did.

As a weapon. Their jolly, their special pawn that would bring them to victory.

Even now... she doesn’t resent them, mind you. She remembers Banon and Arvis, especially, really fondly. She’ll be forever grateful to them for saving her and for trying to make the world a better place. And yet... everytime she thinks about those days, everytime she thinks about that night she spent at their HQ, wondering wether or not she wanted to aid them in battle, she can’t help but feel a little bittersweet about it ]

“Interesting....” Watching the exchange the man was quite interested, it wasn’t often that a spell like that was simply......drawn into a sword and.......what kind of skill was that, and could he learn to use it. To be able to take magic and simply absorb it, that skill was beyond powerful.

A small shift in stance as he watched the match in the coliseum, admiration clear on the white-haired man’s face with each action, each spell used, and each motion. Truly the grace and skill of the other was......

Shaking his head Sephiroth walked down the line, pausing at the foot of the stairs when he saw the female he had been watching move through the archway. “Not a bad match, though curious why someone of your skill is fighting in an arena.”

The Journey to a New World

A whole year had passed since the Era of Ruin had passed with the devious Kefka having been destroyed. The world and its inhabitants were working hard to rebuild, with the remnants of The Returners leading under King Edgar and his kingdom of Figaro. The group of heroes that had given this world a chance in a second life had been apart for some time, busy with their own homes and helping the world however they can.

Today was going to be a change of pace as two of the heroes, Locke and Celes, were on their way to Mobliz to reunite with another friend of theirs. Having taken a ride on Chocobos the two had a fairly safe journey with the town at the horizon.

“So, you think Terra is doing well without her magic?” Locke asked Celes as they traveled. “I know you are a capable warrior without magic, but she was half Esper after all. Can’t really imagine how it feels to lose another half of you.” Locke was making small talk as the silence would most likely bore him to death. Not that he didn’t mind Celes’ company, quite the opposite in fact.

"I'm afraid it was purely intentional, Setzer. Though you could have understand it was from me, I wanted this to be clear."

The joke throws him for a loop, not only for the fact that it comes from Celes -- of all people -- who has always been somewhat short and unimpressed with his behaviour...

          “Ah...”

...But also for the mention of poison, which leaves a dreadful, bitter taste in the back of his mouth all by itself. She couldn’t know how insensitive that was -- and he holds back the discomfort that rises along with it, trying to smooth over the joke as best he can.

           “Certainly, any meal I made would be toxic enough to ruin a man’s guts for            weeks, but-- Poison? I would never. Such a distasteful, evil tactic does not            befit me. If I did cook one day, your death would be little more than a mere            accident, allow me to assure you of that.”

“...Figaro...?” The singular word rolls right off of her tongue but the statement was low enough for herself to hear. Almost as though she had been intending to familiarize herself with the sound of it. As well as it would seem like she had been hoping to make herself a little more known within the suspense of the terrain to better settle her state in situation. While there had been strangeness in land there were signs in an unknown language, It was nothing at all like that of Cocoonian script. What appeared before her eyes was a desert. It made her think of the dead dunes, actually. But not so much as the architecture that seemed to be some sort castle. After all, she’s not too entirely surprised. While in the sameness, she’d catch her her gaze into the sky, the moon nor sun seemed as close to the earth as it had in Nova Chrysalia. She’s just thankful that it wasn’t hot and disastrous. At least now yet. Instantly turning behind her, soft like foot fall approached. It wasn’t enough to strike fear in her though.

     “Are you alright? Can I be of any assistance?” Her first question would have been to ask where she was, but the moment her eyes fell upon the stranger’s face, she instead found herself worrying over her, wondering if she was alright. There was something about her expression that made her look so out of it she couldn’t help fretting over her. Strangers that fretted over others like this were probably incredibly strange, but she couldn’t help it. A hand was extended to the female in case she needed some support, but she didn’t want to touch her in case that was something she especially hated. Not everyone took kindly to being casually touched and for all Deuce knew, she could actually be completely fine and she just misunderstood from where she had been standing.
