Blade of the Cetra First Class

Sephiroth was born in a small town named Nibelheim, when he was a child he was happy and energetic, he was almost exactly like Tifa really, playful and eager. Dreaming of becoming a great hero and part of Soldier like his hero Zack. For his entire life he looked up to the black haired man. When he turned fourteen that was when the first strange thing happened, his family had a secret, every four generations one member was born with two souls, every four or five of those, the last happening almost twenty generations earlier, they could manifest that second soul. Sephiroth reached inside and pulled out something amazing, the Sword Masamune. With it came the being, the second soul. This sword became like a brother, a guardian and protector, a cherished ally. Using this blade Sephiroth quickly became a very powerful warrior, by the time he was sixteen Shinra took him in to join Soldier. That was where the trauma began. Everything in crisis core was reversed, Zack being the one that went through the mental break and turned dark, Sephiroth fighting, the trauma taking it's toll, it snapped him in a very different way. Flash forward, now the man is cool, never reacting without a calculated thought, putting an air of uncaring to protect himself, fighting for money, at least on the surface, when in truth he fights for ideals he is afraid to show. Masamune​:

The blade really was trying to give the younger the benefit of the doubt, and every sentient weapon was difference, especially their preferences and everything. It was a huge change from the younger’s ancestor’s simply not listening to him as this time around, he looked back to see the taller male adjusting what he did based on the elder’s suggestion. Leaning against anything and he was fine with that as it would help out immensely but he also stayed quiet once his master agreed to do so but also gave a good counter argument which made sense. However as the younger mentioned the sheath and how he despised it, Masamune tensed up and froze for a split second before returning to normal, sighing out as he frown and shook his head. Even if it wasn’t a normal scabbard that the others had used in the past and was simply a small but very detailed loop, it still terrified him greatly. One fear that he would never get over and it showed.

“I know……..but better that we’re finally getting to this now instead of me exploding on you down the line. The sheath….that will be a last last resort more then anything, since before that you can place me back inside you and that works as well.” So those were the last options in case nothing else worked as the elder continued on. “So if possible, try to lean me instead of burying me into the ground. But if there is no place to lean me against, if your simply too exhausted or injured, then that’s when you can place me in the ground…..I guess. Although…..” Thinking more, Masamune then rubbed his chin as an idea came to him.

“Before that though….if there is no place to lean me, then I can simply transform and just stand guard or something if that will help out better. Especially if your exhausted and need someone to lean against to recover your energy…..” How many options was that now? “So in order from preferred to last last resort: Leaning me against a building or object, letting me transform if possible, stabbing me into the ground, laying me on the ground, bringing me back inside you and finally…..” He had to gulp a bit as he spoke. “….last last resort would be the sheath.”

The only real issue he had with manifesting him for something like that was that the duration was so short that manifesting and instantly returning would be taxing, but if it was the preference of his partner he would do it. It was similar to absorbing him only to resummon him moments later, it didn’t make sense, more then that it was taxing, far moreso then many would ever realize. He was a powerful mage, but he was not a summoner, Shiva was really the only esper he called upon and that was few and far between for the same reason, true magic was not like materia, it was both far stronger and far more exhausting.

It was times like this he wished he could use Materia, even if he despised most Materia.

“I made you a promise years ago, and that promise will never be broken, I will never put you in a sheath unless you are so damaged that it is for your reparations.” A sheath, not a normal one but the one that Masamune used, was more then a container it was infused with magicks that repaired him, and it was only ever used when Masamune was so damaged a simple whetstone, reforging was a possiblity as well but it wasn’t one he liked to imagine, after all a sentient weapon was not normal steel.

“If you do not mind manifesting for small periods that is acceptable, although thinking on it just because we cannot be too far apart does not mean you cannot stay awake at most times. I believe I should start using you the way I did during our days at ShinRa, when you being awake, and manifested, was the norm rather then the exception. After all, we are not travelling constantly now.”

Aerith​:

Aerith chuckled a bit. “Of course. I’d be glad to at least try.” She was good with her flowers, and she could easily do arrangments with them. She didn’t know if it would be the same this time, but she still wanted to try. Anything to make her friend smile, as usual. 

He smiled a bit, she was always so willing to do so much, it was something he loved about her as a person, it’s why he agreed to be her bodyguard for a date, not because he was a perverted man like many whom just wanted to get into her panties, but because he genuinely respected, and admired, all the effort she put into so much.

“So we have our next day together planned, what would you like to do today?”

Aerith​:

“No flying! You’re suppose to be building a rep for being a reliable merc, you know most of the slums are extremely superstitious. You reveal your wing and there’s no telling how they might view you.”

Aerith put her hands on her hips with a pout, to any outsider she’d look like she was scolding the towering man like a child. Which of course she was, just a strange sight to behold if any did see.

“We’ll walk it’s the safest way, besides fiends always drop something good. Plus, who knows we might clear some items from the scoreboard!”

He raised an eyebrow at that, “I don’t quite see how flying over a unpopulated section would hurt my reptuation. But you are correct as well, some of the raw materials that the fiends leave might be useful.” He also just wanted to make her happy, so if walking did that then he would walk happily.

“However, far more important to me then simply building my reputation, is your safety.” There were priorities he had even if not many realized he had them, and helping people was more important to him then simply his reputation. He might be stoic, he might not show it to many, but Sephiroth cared far more about people being safe then he did about making extra Gil. A job with Avalanche was about the money, but that was because it was about destroying something, not about saving a person.

Claire​:

       How true statement could ever be more. They cannot anticipate death confiscating them, but to focus on the present. Such an inescapable fate that what formed the dark twists of life itself. Imagining the demise of a cherished was a mere torment image for anyone. A shook of her head. The angst conception needed to disappear. 

       The inquiry of their paths crossing was set to subject. His words reflecting the fates that conducted their encounter. Assuredly, she least expected. Eyes widen slightly along with lips parting. A knot forming in her throat. Though, it was only for a mere second before simply averting her eyes. “Take advantage of the idea that you are the only one of familiarity in this new region to me now.” Her tone initiating the hint of twine but spoken in clear words. Although stepping into the unknown area and seeing him was a relief she confessed mentally. Her hands placed upon her waist with a head tilt as pale aquatic irises returned the gaze to the male. “….Would it not be wise for me to refuse. After all, it may give me time to decipher what fate holds for this once again crossed paths… a foreshadowing?”

“It would be your decision in the end Claire. I am simply offering what I have to help.” Tifa might not quite understand if he asked her to find a room for someone that she probably didn’t remember. She never did seem to remember anything about Corneria or the world that Cosmos had drawn them into. He was a bit surprised that she did, considering she was one of the ones that had sacrificed her life to give them all that victory at the end.

He also very much appreciated her mindset, if anyone would figure it all out it was the Valhallan Warrior Goddess. “The question does arise however, what if there is no purpose, what if this is just Cosmos or Materia trying to give us a chance to reconnect?”

Rapier​:

“Well, that is good to know. I am glad that you trust us. I know the other trust you. Well, except for my Master. I don’t understand his distrust towards you. It might be he believes you are trying to ruin a friendship he has had with the others for a long time. He has know Angeal since they were toddlers.” She continued thinking for other reasons that would cause Genesis to not trust the silver before her. “Or he just might not like that Masamune and I are close friends. I was friends with Buster longer. He might think that Masamune might be trying something.”

Although hearing that Masamune disliked dancing caused her to let out a small laugh. “I kind of want to see him at one of these dances now if he hates them as much as you say he does. It would kind of be funny to see him moping and sulking in a corner the entire time or having to do the forced smile and playing nice.”

The last comment caught her off guard and made her face flush a bright red. “Oh no, no, no ,no, no. I- I can do the shopping on my own. It shouldn’t be that hard to pick out a simple dress for the dance. I think a simple black and red dress should do. I don’t do heels either, so that will be easy.”

Genesis had his reasons, eventually Sephiroth would figure them out, of that he was sure. Just because he had to work at it didn’t mean it wasn’t worthwhile. Though he wasn’t sure why Masamune becoming her friend would make Geneis mistrust him, that didn’t quite add up. Still he made no comment on that because honestly it wasn’t the focus he wanted tonight, this was supposed to be something enjoyable rather then something negative, but picking on his blade.....that could be fun. “He does it because I ask him to, but I only do so once in a while, to me dancing is about grace, and it helps me become a better warrior, as well as a better person.” The way he fought was very similar to a dance, smooth and flowing, one action leading into another without a single break, and anyone whom saw him dance would see exactly how it affected his fighting style. Both his melee and his magical styles. 

“Did you know, for example, that when you combine a dance into a fighting style, you can even have your magicks work with them, it is a large part of why I can bend my ice spells the way I do.” That might, it just might, help her enjoy it a bit, if she could transfer it into her combat, just like Masamune she was a weapon, a living sentient weapon that would revel in battle......at least that was his assumption.

“I’m not referring to something as simple as ballroom dancing either. Though I do enjoy that from time to time.” Then he heard her reaction to shopping alone and he couldn’t help but laugh, “Perhaps, if you want to go alone that would be fine, but heels won’t work for this kind of dancing, and if you do get a dress like that make sure it has leg slits.”

Rasberry​:

“Mhmmm,” Jessie hummed, sitting back as she let a thoughtful expression cross her face. That was a good question, she hadn’t thought so far along this path, but still, here she was.

“By being me?”

Oh, was there anything else more infuriating than Jessie being…well Jessie.

“Tell me,” she asked leaning in, “what is more annoying about me?”

He chuckled, “That is a very good answer.” And they both knew it, she could drive him wild without trying to easily, so being her teasing playful self would easily work, and he planned to enjoy it completely.

“What, are you going to punish me if I say there is anything annoying about you? Truthfully the only thing I would change about you Rasberry, is your tendancy to burden yourself too much.”

Rasberry​:

Pain was exhausting, as was trying to bear with it. Jessie wanted nothing more than to just, grin and bear it for as short a time as she had to, and a nap. Though, his question prompted her out of it, why was he talking about food? It hadn’t occurred to her it was simple a way to keep her engaged.

Blinking, her eyes burned, she let her head rest against his shoulder and pondered an answer to the question, “my mom’s pizza.” It seemed like such an innocent answer, and maybe it was. You couldn’t beat your parents cooking, right? It wasn’t like Jessie hadn’t tried, but she hadn’t nailed it, it never quite tasted the same way.

“She just…does it perfectly.” Or maybe it was the nostalgia, it was a hell of a taste, her own attempts didn’t carry the same weight with them. “It’s like trying to make cake at home…” you could, but it wouldn’t be the same as from the bakery, would it? “It’s just not as good as the store.” Never as fluffy, a lot more messy, and frankly, time consuming.

Even if she didn’t understand at least she was doing it, though he wasn’t sure if he could do something like that himself, he was a very good cook, something he had learned while he was on the field, there was no professional training but that didn’t change that he was still very good at it at this point, “I’ll make you a deal Rasberry, if you stay awake and talk to me until we get you to a doctor and they say you can sleep, I’ll make you a pizza, just to see if it works for you, how does that sound?”

“It won’t be your mothers pizza, but I am quite good at cooking. Maybe i’ll throw in a full body massage too......” He looked down, there was a soft smile on his face for that moment, she was his everything at this point, if he lost her.....he would break and he knew it, ShinRa would see what a danger someone like him truly was, it was his unwillingness to die that made him less dangerous, the fact that he wanted to stay alive to return to those her cherished. 

“A little jolt.” That was all the warning she got before he jumped off the side of the building, Masamune following soon after and returning to the little strap of leather at his waist, it was better then being left behind and his hands were full of very precious cargo, then his wing shot out and the jolt came as it caught wind and they jerked upwards. “You’re safe, I have you Rasberry.”

That was huge.

“Wait – what?” Jessie asked, surprised, almost shocked by the question. She just hadn’t expected it. He always seemed to be one step ahead of her, Jessie hadn’t seriously considered the idea, her brain had been too tied up with mission planning and the whole, Avalanche thing.

“We could – try.” She offered, “like…a trial?”

It wasn’t that huge, at least not to him, it was big of course but it was.......it was her. “If you aren’t ready you don’t need to, but I don’t like seeing you alone.” It was true, but it was so much more then that, he felt....more complete when she was around now, far more complete.

“I also feel happier, like I belong, when you’re here. Moreso then any other time. A trial is fine with me, or if you need more time that is fine as well.”

Moka​:

After a couple of rounds on the dummy Moka decided to take a break and sit down on a rock near her as the breezed blows through her hair as she used a cloth so she doesn’t sweat since the water of any kind can hurt her . Her emerald hues looked over to see someone not too far from her though she knew he was there but didn’t care at that moment to notice him but now his training kind of caught her interest a bit. ‘Seems he is a sword user, interesting ‘ she thought whilst watching the movements he was making with it. So swift and steady with his feet following the beat of the blade. 

She said nothing nor did she make a move to go talk to him since she wasn’t the kind to approach someone . She prefers to be approached.

It was something they shared, not approaching the other while they were training, making sure they weren’t intruding, but that didn’t mean he was going to stop his training, he had fifteen more minutes before he could consider putting his sword down for the day. So he continued the moves he had begun, just adapting his movements a bit to keep working as if his sword was her foot, and working the stone he had been working for the past two months, Masamune would need sharpening tonight.

A heavy breath left his lips when the final fifteen finally passed, and the man turned and started to walk off twords Seventh Heaven, if Moka wanted to approach him now was the time.

“Tifa, would you mind if I asked you to shut down for an hour or two? I have Aerith with me and I wanted to.....ask both of you something.” Tifa would of course have some idea what he wanted to ask, but he had to approach it carefully, after all he had the two most beautiful, most important people in the world with him and he didn’t want to lose either of them.

Moving inside he held the door open for Aerith, then flipped the sign outside to closed which sparked a crowdful of awwws and booo’s to fill the air, still this was important.....especially for them. Shutting the door completely after Aerith entered he pulled out two stools, one for each, and waited for them to sit before pushing them in, then he went behind the bar and poured three glasses of water, only after setting them for each did he finally settle into his own.

“Aerith, Tifa, the first thing I’m going to say is I love you, both of you.”

How he loved her......

......so much so that that whisper sent a shiver through his entire frame, even to the point that he just couldn’t hold it back as well, a second finger moved to join the first even as his other hand moved into her hair, “Tifa you feel delightful, you are perfect.” He wanted so much, he needed so much from her, “I can’t hold it back any longer.”

The whisper was her only warning before his hand gripped her hair tightly and yanked her head back, it was rough but not so hard that it would hurt, and then he shifted her down, a hungry, needy look in his eyes as he moved, fingers withdrawing from her to spread her legs and releasing her hair. Sephiroth Week 2018  ||  Day 4 – Day Off (Free Day)

For todays free theme, I wanted to draw Seph doing something mundane and possibly boring, but something that we as the audience never get to see him do. I think sometimes those small missed moments are the most interesting.  Enjoy! 💜

Tifa​:

“I’d like that,” she murmured, taken aback slightly by the return of his suave nature. It was odd seeing him so stoic these last few weeks – seeing him like this made her feel much more at ease. “I’ve missed you.”

Her hand rested on his chest, fingers reaching to twirl some of his hair.

“No matter what, let’s communicate, okay? Not knowing what was happening was killing me. I don’t want to experience that again.”

He sighed in pleasure at that, it was a bit difficult being distant with her but he was terrified of hurting or upsetting her, he didn’t know what else to do, the fact that she felt the same just made it harder to realize. “And I you Tifa.”

“I promise, I will always try and talk with you in the future, the worry of having you hate me was what was killing me.”

Rapier​:

Even though her Master had little trust in him, she trusted him. She mostly knew of him from Masamune and from what she observed. Listening to him more though she nodded. “Yes, I do trust you. Just don’t make me regret it. Otherwise you won’t like what happens. Let’s just say, my Master will be the least of your worries.”

But hearing him say that he enjoyed the theater too caused her to little out a small sigh. “Is there anyone in Midgar who doesn’t like plays? It seems everyone I meet likes plays and the theater.” Although his offer to take her to the dance and have Masamune take her place in going to the theater and she take Masamune’s place in going to the dance she thought for a moment.

“Well, I would need to get a dress because I don’t have one. But that seems like something I would be willing to do. Anything to get out of attending the play. That and if I am around you a lot of the sleazy old men that attend won’t get near me. Apparently your looks scare people.”

He smiled a bit, it made him happy to hear that, he had issues he knew but he was honest, he never did anything without a good reason. “It makes me pleased, I trust you as well, and even Genesis and the others, I don’t know why they don’t trust me but......there’s nothing to worry about on that.” He was questioning some things ShinRa did but he was also very much upfront about it, and nothing he asked was wrong either.

He did chuckle softly at the response, “Honestly I think Masamune hates it at this point, but he hates dancing even more. I enjoy them but not enough to see them repeatedly just because they’re there. More once in a while type of thing for me.” Well he honestly meant it too, he liked them but he wasn’t obsessed with them.

“Are you saying you want me to take you shopping? I suppose that can be arranged.......and my looks? Well it’s not as if I need to have everyone like me, but I can assure you I won’t let anyone harass you.”

“You could just…ask me to stay you know,” she proposed, the smile turning into a smirk as she took a step forward and closed the space between them. Arms wrapped around his torso as she looked up with those big bright brown eyes, “what about…we make pizza?”

“Because this way is more fun, and cuter that’s why.”

“I will always choose that with you because it brings that beautiful smile and laugh out of you.” He gave a soft chuckle there, he liked making her smile, making her happy, it was just a small thing he could do. “But perhaps instead I’ll just ask if you wouldn’t want to move in instead.”
