It's important to help when you can.
At the very beginning of GCR, I wanted to reach out to everyone with open arms. That means cheering on not just those in the crew or those within arms reach, but sending good vibes and energy on the outside of our city. Tonight serves as an opportunity to send help to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan. While none of my family in the Philippines was directly affected, I know of people who are still waiting to hear about loved ones abroad.
The good people at Fleet Feet Chicago have been gracious enough to help put this donation drive to Red Cross available tonight from each of their locations. I will be at the Old Town location, so I hope to see a lot of you there. This is worked into their Pint Night, so after the fun run, we'll all head to Benchmark (where the first round is free!). Of course all paces are welcome. People typically run 3 or 5 miles, but really any distance is available. CW-X will be there raffling off a pair of tights and also matching donations, up to $500.
Peace,
Jigbie
