It was a great run up the hill from the Runner's Roost to the trail around Davidson Mesa with the run club tonight! It was pretty windy up on the mesa but it was great weather otherwise. Rough run at run club tonight! I was supposed to be recovery running a bit more, but I tried to keep up and put myself probably at too fast a pace. So at about mile 4 my calf started tensing up and at mile 4.7 it pulled and I had to limp back. I have both the Rock and Role 5k and half to do this weekend. So it looks like a calf brace and a lot of walking is in my future!! No PRs here and I only have 2 weeks to heal for the Dallas Spartan Beast. Not a good time for an injury!! A great run at run club!! I ended up taking this morning off. I didn't want to risk injury before Rugged Maniac this weekend. This run still puts me at 30 miles this week...a bit down from other weeks my wife has traveled but still solid!! I think I was able to keep up with everyone because this wasnt a double run day!! It was great to get to run with everyone and I can't wait to do it again next week. It is Wednesday Run Club here in Louisville!! It was a nice overcast run so it wasn’t too 🔥!! It was nice to get out and finish 10 miles for the day!! Tonight’s run was courtesy of the Louisville Runners Roost Run Club! My wife got me to go… She has been telling me that I have become a bit anti-social and it would be good for me to get out and meet people with similar interests. Of course my wife was right!! I had a great time. They had three runs mapped out a 2.5, a 3.5 and a 4.5. I ended up running with a couple of gentlemen and having a nice conversation while keeping a pretty fast pace for me. It ended with beer and some quesadillas curtsy of my 9 round gym. All in all a win!! I will be going back!!

Maybe not today (or tomorrow (or the day after that...)) but... a brilliant run IS out there ...as distant as that prospect may seem.
And believe me, I haven't had mine yet, but I am excited for when I get it.
