Whitehead Runners do Woodburn Dams on Monday night #RunClub #RunningBug #RunBuddies (at Woodburn Reservoirs)
MORNING!!!! So the dodgy toe and hip are feeling a whole lot better and I’m back on it! I’ve been running my ass off (literally to keep my ass off) since I was about fifteen and I go stir crazy when I can’t do it, so to be back in full swing is awesome! Popped on some awesome tunes this morning, even sang along and frightened a man walking his dog! Then I spotted a cross in the sky and thought, THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WEEK! 🙏✨ #julychallenge #greattobealive #runningbug #thankful #injuryfree (at Annesley, Nottinghamshire)
10 week countdown to the Bristol 10k
This is my 10 week count down to my first prober 10k run! I started running last as a way to lose weight and manage to shed 30lbs!!! Yeah!!!! I didn't think I would like running but there is something about hitting road, playing my favorite music and having some me time. I have been off running now for 4 weeks due to a groin strain injury and today is my first time back to running! I'm really hoping that my injury holds up! Fingers crossed everyone!! I'm set myself a few goals this year and the Bristol 10k is part of complete this journey (sorry everyone I said the 'journey' word) which is to run a half marathon. I am hoping to complete the 10k in under 60 mind, I ran a number of them last year and was averaging 62. In addition, to my personal goal I am also taking the opportunity to raise money for charity! I am running for Cots for Tots, an amazing charity have supported a number of my work colleagues through some difficult and challenging times.
So today I "graduated" from my beginner's Crossfit class and now get to go to the "big kid's" class :-D Granted, with me working Tuesday thru Thursday, running another 5K on Saturday I probably won't get to a class until next Monday but ehh, we'll see how it goes. Tomorrow I'm joining a coworker for a 3 mile run (i may be walking most of it but whatev) and I even got to Cardio Funk today lol
So yesterday I managed to get out and jog/walk 3 miles in like 43 minutes which isn't half bad for having no motivation to do so and having worked the legs in crossfit that morning :-D And today despite personal delays I got out and did 1.5 miles in 19 minutes :-) meant to go further but my feet started hurting and not only is tomorrow a crossfit day but it's day 1 of 3 of 12 hour shifts -_- i love my job i love my job i love my job
So apparently I've gotten bit by the running bug (or I know that spending money on things will cause me to motivate) but I just signed up for 3 more 5Ks. One in May and two in June. I'm kinda stoked but I guess this means I should probably start working on my ability to run long distances lol....
