My cross country coach refuses to order any uniforms over large, and I don't quite fit! He says all runner will fit into the available sizes but that's just not true! Ugh I'm so frustrated and I don't know what to do! Any advice?
You could do a few things but it all depends on your comfort level.
- Wait until they come in, put the shirt on and incredible hulk your way through it. Promptly take it to your coach and ask for another.
- Ask him what the measurement of the largest size are and show him your measurements to compare. See if that get him to reconsider.
- If those don't work I would think about speaking to someone else in your school like an advisor or administrator about what is happening. You have the right to be dressed just like your peers without wearing something that is too small. See if anyone else on the team with help advocate for you.
-If nothing else works let me know and see if you are able to fundraise to buy your own uniform. We can thoroughly chastise your school and coach for refusing to provide you with the proper uniform to be part of the team. It's not just making someone feel like they don't matter but a way to actively bully someone by disregarding their needs.
