Go Go Gadget Jets!!! I CRUSHED my PR!! Ran this half marathon in 2:18:26! Day 2 in Vegas has been an incredible success! Huge thank you to all my family, friends, coaches, physical therapist, running buddies and my sweet little girl back home for all the support and encouragement! Ran a 10k cold today. Haven’t been able to train due to the air quality for 2 weeks. But I ran it in 1:01:15, shaving 4 mins 6 seconds off my time from last year, and finishing 9th in my age group; 49th overall. Also had my first visit to a medical tent ever (sickeningly painfully blister - I need new socks). Hoping to get my time down under an hour next year. It’s weird; this is only the 2nd 10k I’ve ever run. Post-race pic. 30:30 today. 4th fastest time ever for a 5k, and 2 mins + 16 seconds faster than my time for this race last year. Placed 48th out of 172 runners overall (and 22nd female, and 5th for my age group). I’ll take it! 7th race of 2018 in the books! (Only my third 5k this year, though). Missed my buddies today, as I did this race solo, but still had fun! My little good luck charm ☘️got to see me finish a race for the first time ever! Not my best, but definitely not my worst. 2:31:58. Don’t care. I finished! That was my 3rd half marathon since April 8th this year! I’ve run in 3 states in 2018 so far, because #travelingrunnergirl is my thing now! My feet hurt but my heart is full! Huge thanks to my in-laws for getting up to drive me at 3am to the shuttle, also to all my running buddies for the encouragement from back home, and my softball coaches, but also to @dodgerdogg88 for the tip on the race! My 2nd race of 2018 is in the books! PR at 2:22:41 for the #rnraz Half Marathon! Batman and I flew today - this one was for Jason. 🖤 This the first medal of the year, too. Pretty cool to get it in another state!
