Are you excited for Rupert in Bone in the Throat? I'm a little nervous but I jump at the chance at seeing him be silvery foxy!
Ehm. Not really because....
Spoilers from here on:
What are your thoughts about the romantic abilities and preferences of Stirling Rogers and Alec Beasley? Doesn't Beasley mention a daughter, but he doesn't seem to have a wedding ring on? Maybe he is single? Or gay?
I must admit I didn’t pay that much attention to the script when Ralph (or Rupert or both) were on screen. I don’t think Beasley is married but I’m not sure about the daughter. Worricker has got a daughter. Maybe he is referring to her?
Can someone who actually paid attention to the plot can help me out here? :D I really tried to pay attention but as soon as my men stepped into the scene I wasn’t able to concentrate anymore…
Edit: shropshiregirl79:
In Page 8 during the speech scene Alec says something like “My daughter tells me I always ruin everything.” I assume he is divorced. He’s based on Tony Blair who is said to be having marital issues and has 3 sons and 1 daughter.
Stirling is half in love with Margo in Turks and Caicos and wooing her a little bit. The little touches in the office, the dinner, the travelling to an exotic island….
So he’s single and straight/bi sexual. He seems to care a lot for his friend Alec though and his sacrificing his own career for his sake. So from my fangirl point of view I can see something more between them. But of course they can just be really good friends… not everything/everyone has to be ‘shipped’ instantly :)
Beasley… as I said, I don’t know if he’s got children but he doesn’t seem to have a significant other. Then again… has there ever been a PM that didn’t have a family? I don’t know that either…
But Alec likes Stirling and I do think they are flirting a little bit with each other. (“There’s no one I’d rather wait for than you…” or something along these lines (Alec to Stirling in T&C).)…
sc are lillian and ringo spayed/neutered. or are you going to have a bunch little kittens sometime. because that might lighten the mood around here.
They're both fixed.
Is the fame and wealth really worth it? Knowing how it's going to inevitably end?
...
[So he unlocks the liquor cabinet, and he grabs a bottle of wine (if he's going to get smashed, he's going to do it in a classy way), and he grabs a wine glass, and he fills it with red wine, and he--]
[--stops. And stares at it.]
[Is he really going to fucking do this? After going to fucking rehab, after months of therapy, after hundreds of exasperated promises?]
[Maybe.]
[He takes a sip, and it tastes like death personified. He takes another, and it's even worse. SC stares at the glass, scared and confused. It's not working, why isn't it working? This was supposed to make him forget, right? It's supposed to be a cure-all for his problems.]
[Next thing SC knows, the glass is broken and his hand is bleeding. That's... not right. When did that happen?]
[And why?]
