Today was pretty scary for us. I'm not used to swimmers ear, let alone a child who gets swimmers ear, so when we brought out the kiddie pool, I forgot to get the ear plugs and this little fishy ended up with swimmers ear. I took her to the pediatrician who prescribed antibiotic ear drops for her. I gave her her first dose last night before bed. Then this morning after giving her her morning dose the membrane in her outter ear ruptured and bled like crazy so we ended up in the ER. Poor things swimmers ear swelled her inner ear up so much that it made the membrane in her outer ear thin and me massaging the drops into her ear (I am supposed to do that per doctors instructions) caused it to rupture. Now she's on an oral antibiotic and the ear drops for the next 10 days. I feel horrid cause she screams and fights me the whole time.
