over the years, as someone without a gender and who doesnt care if people perceive me as masc/femme/man/woman/etc, the words ‘man’ and ‘woman’ or even terms like ‘manhood’ and ‘womanhood’, have stopped meaning much of anything

of course they mean a lot to other people and i have an entire character whos story hinges on exploring what manhood/masculinity is, but for me the words have become nebulous terms that could mean anything and look like anything when put into practice, which is how its become so much easier to deal with my dysphoria

you perceive me as a man, random stranger at a coffee shop? cool! the word doesnt mean anything to me, so it doesnt really matter that you do. <3 ive been able to detach a gender from my body and my agab

ive noticed such a weird shift in peoples opinion on afab body hair (mostly on tiktok) where its more acceptable now if a woman doesnt shave for herself or to feel pretty, but if she does it to prove a point or posts her hairy pits with the caption “male repellent” its considered weird and gross? (of course those kinds of videos have supporters but theres still a large portion of individuals who have some kind of issue with them) since when was it weird for people to do things with their body in order to fight for a cause or prove a point, sometimes, that can make people feel just as good or pretty as someone doing it purely for themselves and no outside reason…no matter what someones reasons are it should be valid and accepted as long as their not hurting themselves or trying to to be someone their not

ive totally had friends that shave find it bizarre that i dont shave partly as a way to fight against societal standards, because they dont believe thats a valid reason for someone to keep their hair…i encourage people to pick out and tackle their internal biases instead of projecting them onto others
