Michael doesn't die in season 4, they have everyone believe so in order to flush out some bad guy one undercover op team was trying to catch.
In the same way, Josh, who was giving a hand to that team secretly, fake his own death to both the undercover team but the leader, and the TR team.
At some point the bad guy comes out, and both teams move to catch him, one because they were following him for long, years even, the other to get revenge for both Michael and Josh.
That's when TR finds out Josh's alive, that's when Josh stops stella and reveals Michael's alive too, by sending a text to the undercover leader to come out.
But TR is in for a quite big shock when undercover team is revealed to be led by none other than Grace, together with Connor and some other very good undercover agents.
