why I’m glad I rushed - from an independent
In the end, I went through rush twice: once with my new friends beside me and once with them guiding me. No, I didn’t get a bid. Yes, I was crushed when I didn’t get invited back. But the whole experience was needed. I put myself (and my friends - sorry guys) through some really tough situations. I cried. I got mad. I questioned things. It was all difficult and necessary. Rushing helped me find out more about myself. I came out of it a more confident and proud person. I need to learn to live independently. A sorority would have been an awesome organization to be a part of, but it is not what I needed. I am happy and feel whole. I know I am going in the right direction. This is were I am meant to be.
