Feelin’ Better About Myself

So much has happened in my life in the past few weeks and it has felt like a constant roller coaster. About 5 weeks ago I met my boyfriend’s son for the first time, he is an adorable 15 month old little energetic boy, but I found myself wondering if I could accept him into my life, was it going to be too much for me to handle down the road? Having these thoughts running through my head made me act like a different person, it wasn't like I hated his child, in fact his child enjoyed me and I really enjoyed him, I was acting standoffish and nervous something that I am usually never like, but it was something that my boyfriend noticed. Once his son left, things went back to normal and I was my usual happy self, then his son came back about 2 weeks ago and I started acting abnormal again. Once again my boyfriend took notice. After his son left at the end of that weekend, we decided I should wait on seeing his son again, let him spend sometime alone with his son and his parents, then later on get reintroduced to him. I thought this would upset me more, because I felt like a bit of a let down, but honestly after a little bit of distance I can see clearly now that it was too soon to meet him. I love my boyfriend so much more now that we have had this conversation, it was actually what pushed me to say it. I had been wanting to say those words many times, but I could never find the right moment, but after having this conversation with my boyfriend I finally realized, I didn’t need to wait for the perfect moment, the perfect moment was already happening.
