What’s one of your favorite smiths tracks and why?

One of my favourite Smiths’ songs is ‘Rusholme Ruffians’.
Why ?
Sometime ago, I was listening to Meat Is Murder and instantly fell in love with this song. Being one of my favourite Smiths’ songs to (attempt to) dance to, I danced to ‘Rusholme Ruffians’ for hours. The storyline behind the lyrics is probably my favourite part, although the upbeat guitar strumming, and the rhythm between the bass and drums is also another favourite part of mine. I connect to the last verse of the song on a personal level, so I respect Morrissey highly for writing these lyrics in particular. It’s the perfect song for one who is sat in their room alone on Saturday night. One who is desperately wanting to explore life at night, but is comforted by the company of themselves in their bedroom. The placement of the album track is one of the reasons why Meat Is Murder is my favourite Smiths’ album. Alongside the other tracks on the album, ‘Rusholme Ruffians’ is the reason why Side A is my favourite as opposed to Side B.
