GOP North Carolina candidate: ‘God is racist,’ Jews are descended from Satan

A Republican candidate in North Carolina wrote on his website that God is a “racist white supremacist” and that Jewish people are Satanic.

Yeah don’t tell us we can’t compare the GOP to the nazis...

V/A, 'Nice Weather For War' CD (Kye)

While *most* of this disc hangs together pretty coherently, speaking to the unified vision of Kye head Graham Lambkin, my favourite track on this album is the one that stands out the most. It is simply a field recording of a mostly audible conversation between two people in a quite noisy bar, who are maybe on a first date, and the male is largely heard talking about kind of charmingly banal aspects of his life, while our documenter listens in silence before requesting the bill at the end of the track (the "coda" to this piece seems to be sounds of our documenter - presumably track artist Gabi Losoncy - arriving home after the bar). The rest of the music - aside from the Pheromoans' Russell Walker's track, which presents a spoken word piece in a deliciously thick (not as thick as GL's though) British accent, vaguely recalling the Shadow Ring - is similarly built out of quotidian sonics, and is a great little peek into the aesthetic that seems to have grown out of and around GL's solo albums on Kye and amazing, excellent duo projects (with Jason Lescalleet, Kevin Drumm, Aine O'Dwyer, Keith Rowe, et Al) on Erstwhile.

'God is racist,' Jewish people 'all descend from Satan,' NC candidate says

A website tied to a candidate for the North Carolina General Assembly says God is a racist white supremacist and that Jews are descended from Satan. The candidate has also protested using signs that said "God is racist" and What's wrong with being a racist." Russell Walker is a Republican candidate running for state House District 48 which includes Scotland and Hoke counties.
