. “Counting Blessings is Better than Recounting Problems” ~ Russell M. Nelson I think it’s easy for us to be overwhelmed with the everyday problems in our lives. Add a traumatic life-changing event or a pandemic and we may very well be sitting in the middle of our very own pity party. I know it happens. I’ve seen it in others and I’ve had more than a few of my own private parties. But I believe with all my heart that our blessings out number our problems. I believe if we can take pause to count our blessings, even in the midst of frustration, anger, mourning or whatever life throws at us, the windows of heaven will open and pour understanding and comfort down on us. “Counting our blessings is far better than recounting our problems. No matter our situation, showing gratitude for our privileges is a fast-acting and longlasting spiritual prescription. Does gratitude spare us from sorrow, sadness, grief, and pain? No, but it does soothe our feelings. It provides us with a greater perspective on the very purpose and joy of life.” — Russell M. Nelson May we all follow President Nelson’s advise and concentrate on counting our blessings instead of dwelling on our problems. #Printable #RussellMNelson #Inspiration #InspirationalQuotes #WordsOfAPhrophet #CountingBlessings #TheChurchOfJesusChristOfLatterDaySaints #LightTheWorld #SimpleSojourns #inspiremyinstagram #choosejoy #typewritersvoice #quotestagram #motivation #quoteoftheday #lifequotes #instagood #quotestoliveby https://www.instagram.com/p/CILkS9hH_qK/?igshid=16nmftq2p1spd
My 20th Best... this was the very best part of my day... hearing this wise man speak & pray for us today. (I tried & failed to get the video on so you could hear it.) Gave me chills as I listened. I’m grateful for the words of wise men...great men (but they would never admit to that), humble & honest men...truly honest men (a rare commodity these days), inspired men who are firm in their faith. Today this heroic man spoke of gratitude. Gratitude & how it can change our lives. I can bear witness that gratitude changes everything. For years I kept a gratitude journal that morphed into other journals, but there are always 5 things to be grateful for in all those words. Five things. Every day. His remarks & his beautiful prayer for us and all the world are my gratitudes for today. He issued a challenge to find gratitude in every day. Can I issue that same challenge to you? You see, there’s magic in gratitude. It can turn what you have into enough, it can move you to joy, cast out fear, chase depression, change our perceptions from negatives to positives, it can be a light in a world of darkness, a glimmer of hope in a hopeless situation, it can open the heart to love. Please try it for a week & see how your life changes. You will go from the general things to looking for the tender mercies that remain just out of sight but are there nonetheless.
