Soviet painter, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin in the class of the famous painter and teacher B. Ioganson. In Moscow, he studied with A. Gerasimova. He was awarded a diploma of the Council of Ministers of the USSR; a silver medal of the Academy of Arts of the USSR for a series of landscapes of Armenia and Leningrad. Chairman of the Bureau of the Painting Section of the Moscow Union of Artists, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of Russia. Participant of Moscow, republican, all-Union and international exhibitions (Japan, Canada, Belgium, USA, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, France, Bulgaria, Austria, Poland, Greece, Italy, Sweden).

The 1936 Nottingham Chess Tournament is one of the most grandiose tournaments in the history of chess with the participation of five world champions. Jose Raul Capablanca shared first place with Mikhail Botvinnik. José Raúl Capablanca y Graupera (1888-1942) - Cuban chess player, chess writer, diplomat, 3rd world chess champion (won the title in a match with Lasker in 1921, lost to Alekhine in 1927), one of the strongest chess players in the world in the 1910s - 1930s, winner of many international tournaments.
