Anton Weinberger (1843-1912), Hunting dog and pigeons, oil on canvas, 1890, signed and dated, 65 x 52.5 cm.

The animal and landscape painter Anton Weinberger studied at the Academy in Munich and subsequently worked as a drawing teacher in St. Petersburg. After his return, he became a student of Paul Meyerheim in Berlin. He painted dog portraits on commission and participated in various major art exhibitions with his hunting paintings.
