trans hex headcanon blast
Weasel Kid: Nonbinary, she/they. It takes her a while to realise, because she liked the masculine presentation and activities given to her in radical road, so being male seemed right. They eventually come to realise that what they liked about that stuff was the ‘cool’ aspect, and start exploring more feminine and androgynous presentations of coolness they hadn’t thought to before. I think the first seed of cis’nt got planted from people starting to joke that she’d have to start going by ‘weasel man’ soon and they were like ‘wow i hate that idea for reasons i can’t fully pinpoint’
Bryce: Trans man, he/him. During early development his gender was planned to be selectable, before they scrapped this and made him female. Further on he found out about his scrapped male design and the thought of it felt so right that he made an appeal to have his character be male in the final game. Once he gets moved to gamefuna, Irving uses his transness as blackmail material against him.
Chandrelle: Transmasc bigender, he/she. So unbelievably miserable with the womanhood that’s forced on him, needs top surgery more than oxygen. She chalks a lot of her feelings up to discomfort with misogyny and assumes this must just be what all women feel. Very fast turnaround on becoming trans once she realises it’s a thing post-canon.
(old chandrelle sketch i feel is important to go here. he has flat affect but trust me it’s euphoria heaven in there)
Rust: Trans man, as is Rocky. Both he/him. Rust has been a man for decades, though safe testosterone access is sparse and he hasn’t had surgery because with waste world’s conditions you don’t really want anyone cutting into you unless there’s a good chance you’ll die otherwise. Rocky realised he was a boy not long after learning Rust was trans, and the radioactive waste incident he’d had in the past buffed him up and prevented him from having puberty, so there were fortunately no sources of dysphoria for him. (all this wouldn’t hold up so well cause it’s in-wasteworld backstory and lionel wouldn’t write a trans story, but it’s fun to think about)
Lazarus: Trans woman, she/her. Used to have long hair in Legendaria, misses it so badly when it gets buzzed for Vicious Galaxy. Similar to Chandrelle, she misreads her dysphoria as just male gender roles being inherently miserable. She begins to transition when she sees Chandrelle doing the same, and they both support each other through the process. I like to think Chandrelle gifts her his old dress
First Person Perspective: No assigned gender, feels conflicted about the fact that they don’t strongly identify with any sense of gender. It’s one of the most fundamental parts of most people’s identities, it’d be the perfect fuck you after being given so little, but they still find themself feeling genderless, just like how they were made to be. It feels like giving in to the way they were made but whenever they try out anything else it feels forced. I think over time they get into writing as a hobby and come to realise that they prefer expressing themself through their observations and ideas over trying to determine a personal identity.
