~For a Drop of Blood~
“Of course I measure quickly. What smart man does not? Better to start early, spit coarseness and dodge the knife to the ribs if it comes.” The wrinkles that decorated the corners of the man’s eyes deepened slightly with the furrow of his brow. “It is easier to beg forgiveness than playing ‘Twenty Questions’.” Sharpened ears hung up on a particular word, however. “You have a strange concept of lost, boy. Passing through is a ship without a desire to use an anchor. Lost assumes you want to look for something.”
This old man older gentleman, was sharp indeed. “As I was taught, ‘when you find yourself outmatched in your search for something, get yourself good and lost and it will find you.’” He quoted. It wasn’t a direct quote on his part, but it was close enough. “But where are my manners? Eoiel, Walker.” He introduced himself. He pointed towards the little fox, which was now whiskers away from cuddling with the older gentleman’s foot, his palm open.
“And this is Socks.”
(( From a wonderful scene with @house-vexile and their awesome character, Marius! ))
