I was the anon with the magic-using self-insert! I now have the courage to share my silly fellas. This one's a big work in progress but I love her.
Arula, nicknamed "Aru", is a Saiyan mixed with some horned humanoid race that I haven't come up with a name for yet! She's named after arugula bc I just love saying the word :)
She's very tired of a certain prince continuously throwing his title around. She may or may not do various minor things to spite him. That's about all I've got but I just love the idea.

Rutab rescued Popsi a long time ago, after he persuaded her to take her off his home planet. It was just for the money, and she was going to abandon him at first chance she got, but there was retaliation. She ended up terribly injured, and he was able to heal her back to near full health. She begrudgingly took him the rest of the way, and found herself enjoying his company as time went on. He was not like his clansmen, fsr more polite and often sort of naieve. She said she owed it to him to make sure he stayed alive too,and the two became close friends.
I was thinking of making a Saiyan OC that, instead of having any other Super form basically just had SSJ4. Red hair/fur, glorious yellow eyes, the works. His personality basically amounts to being a playful idiot (though not nearly as stupid as Goku is sometimes, thanks Super) with anger issues about his insecurities. His "series" would see him basically travel around different planets in a galaxy with a few buddies at his side looking for a set of Dragon Balls scattered around said galaxy. Here's the thing. These Dragon Balls don't grant wishes; they act as a seal to prevent an evil dragon from escaping and corrupting everything in his path.
Gimme your Saiyans- Do they have a preference for transformations? What would any of them look like with God Ki? (Sorry if this is too long)
oo thats interesting! SsJ4 is probably one of the coolest transformations, and I like the details of the dragons balls actually sealing a dragon away instead of summoning it in the first place.
As for my Saiyans, I only have Sister and brother, Rutab and Begah! Both unlock super saiyan over the course of their journey (in the future they live in, its more of an urban legend sometimes realized for real instead of an impossible dream and myth in saiyan culture), and Rutabs better at controlling hers. Begah however is more powerful, but finds it hard to control his strength, and tends to avoid it. As for god ki, woe Haha I never thought of them with it before! I think they'd prefer to stick to the classic red hair red eyes look, maybe even yellow eyes like ssj4
My oc is a heavy work in progress but he's probably some sort of amalgamation clone adjacent thing related to the cold family, also he's a space pirate and talks to himself all the time. He is lonely and loud and unhinged. He just wants the dragon balls cause they're shiny and sought after he doesn't even know they grant wishes LMAO

Rutab is Begahs older sister, and a bit of a hard ass. She is also a Saiyan, and about 16 years older than her little brother. By the time hes ten, shes been the one taking care of him most of the time. She's the strongest one in the little space crew (consisting of 14 yr old mando, 14 yr old begah, popsi and herself) but isn't hugely into fighting. But at the same time, teaches mando and begah a lot more about violence and not so honorable combat. she and popsi are close friends.
