Roy Batty's death scene from Ridley Scott's science fiction masterpiece, Blade Runner. Scott is on the left in the picture above, talking to actor Rutger Hauer. Interestingly, Scott cast Hauer before they even met; he judged him by his earlier movies, and I assume, his striking looks. If anybody is curious what "atmosphere" looks like when it's created by a film maker, this was it. The original death scene soliloquy was relatively long, about half of a page. Hauer shortened it prior and then improvised during filming. Some present for the scene marveled at how camera operators and other crew (generally speaking, a bunch of people somewhat difficult to astound) were moved to tears.
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time… like tears… in rain… Time… to die.”
