Thank you for answering! I’m not so much concerned about the info getting muddled, more about people thinking it’s none of my business. You know? I mean, on the one hand posting something on twitter is the opposite of private anyway, but sometimes people get weird about things like that :/

I don’t remember class being a thing when I lived in Germany growing up. I don’t think it matters really? Part of that might be due to the dissolution of the nobility in the early 20th century and then a result of the world wars and how devastating reconstruction was afterwards.

Okay cool! So it’s not just me being oblivious of real life things (again), it really doesn’t matter? Good. I didn’t think it did, I was just suddenly starting to wonder.

I’m not sure... Not really? I guess I’m subconsciously always looking for new reasons other people might have for judging me, and today my brain came up with the question if they’d be more likely to think I’m an entitled pretentious asshole or a lazy worthless chav. Haha... being me is fun.

You can only really address someone’s behaviour, not their mental state. What behaviours give you this feeling? You can ask about those.

It’s hard to pin down what behaviour it is exactly... hard to put it to words. But yeah, you’re right of course. Thank you for your reply!

If it helps you to name things (and sometimes it does), then that is envy, not jealousy. Jealousy is where you have something you don’t want to share, and envy is when others have something you want. They are different demons.

Thank you! I actually kind of knew that, I just didn’t know how strictly people actually distinguish between the two words, because I’ve seen them used pretty much interchangeably. And in this case the OP makes it very clear which of the two feelings they’re talking about, even if the term is wrong. But thank you for confirming that there is a difference; as a non-native speaker I sometimes get confused!
