newsies ~ i’m super biased because it’s my favorite show but i just feel this is such a good family friendly show? like there’s nothing confusing about the plot, there’s cool TAP dancing, and some great songs. and that movie is what i watched for a role i had to prepare for in my first musical so it’s been with me for awhile and that is the kind of movie transition you want from a movie to musical. i love it.

pippin ~ my friend hannah was like !!! pippin !!! pippin !! kayla go see pippin!! and i was like idk it seems like a weird musical about some circus that’s weird. well i ended up seeing it and WOW it was so great. what made the show was the acrobats which i hear was not a thing in the original show? i just love how it was a story within a story. which would seem like it’s kind of confusing but i followed it really well.

the last five years ~ so i never fully saw this show until the movie came out. i knew some of the songs and i knew of the plot but never watched the bootleg or saw the musical (it closed right before i got to the city) and this has slowly become one of my favorite shows. i want to play cathy so badly. i feel so many musicals have that happy ending and this one doesn’t. i love how different that is. and i like how all the songs are jumbled up in the timeline. that’s just the coolest thing to me? and it’s literally a TWO PERSON SHOW. LIKE !!!! amazing.
