The sounds of the Lancer’s roars and poetic speeches of injustice were lost to the way of  his slaughter and eventually his roll as defender muted him completely. The slice of flesh and the slide of bodies off his weapon echoed within the alley. His armor rung loudly as he lifted his heel. Vlad pressed it against the spine of the man caught on his lance.  A kick, red glistened along the metal. All the more to match the fresh blood on his armor.  Unlike the skeletons and beasts  fought with the banner of Chaldea,criminals, people  littered around them-- all with the intent to do the young Master harm. Never. Never. He would never allow it. Sucking in a breath, he held it within his lungs as he surveyed the area... then glanced behind him with a small turn, weapon in his hands.She had been so quiet...

From her position, there was no visual to determine the identity of an approaching presence. The scuff of foot against rock and Mashu’s inner guard was up. The claim that monsters in the depths of the mountain were menacing and savage entailed going into any fight with a plan in mind. And to plan, she needed to know what she was up against.

By her boots laid one of several large stones worn from the face reaching up further; the size of a tennis ball. Plucked from the ground, Mashu’s fingers groped for the best grip, eyes set on the creeping shadow slithering from around the corner.

With a fierce grunt, she launched the rock; rocketing as a warning shot to whatever dared approach. A throw which left her crouched after, in preparation to tackle the incoming should it be a feasible strategy.

Though her balance was lost almost altogether at the sight of fiery hair peeking around the edge, fashioned distinctively.

It was a blessing the serve hadn’t knocked the target’s head off!

It was surprisingly overwhelming, being the same size as most of those around her--smaller than many, even. There was no hiding her eyes flitting from one side of the street to the other, and then further down the city sidewalk.

Being in the city, itself, was also strange. Compared to the confines of her cell, even the narrow streets felt wide open...freeing.

Her thoughts were interrupted, however, when she took notice of a nearby storefront. Not a word left Altera’s lips while she stepped closer to the class, smiling softly once she was able to easily admire the assortment of pastel-colored sweets within.

It was an unusual impulse that caused her to turn to the next person coming by,

“E-excuse me, do you know what these ones are called?”

Because, for all of her stored data, she somehow did not have any information on these particular candies. How embarrassing.
