I wonder if this passed Rutube's moderation because

it was moderated by a bot and not a human

this joke was deemed too insignificant to be considered "LGBT propaganda"

the human moderator didn't know English and couldn't be bothered to translate

Decided to check Rutube again and got upset. Most TTTE content is reuploaded from YT by BOTS. I also remember that for the brief period I used RT, all the comments I got was shameless self-promotion, which only pushed me to ditching it.

Oh well, at least Peertube instances work fine and I see they're populated by actual human beings. I use cuddly.tube a little, but I don't know how serious they are about copyright and don't want my account to have the same fate as on Vimeo, so I avoid posting cartoon clips.

I haven't used Rutube much, but so far it seems like it would NOT work as a replacement for YouTube. It doesn't recommend content based on what you watched before, a lot of non-Russian content seems to be copypasted from YT by accounts with generic Russian names (bots?), and the only comments I got so far were self-advertisement.
