Happy Kwanzaa! Kwanzaa is a week-long, annual celebration that begins today. It is held in the United States and other nations of the African diaspora in the Americas to honor African heritage in African-American culture. It is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in gift-giving and a feast. Kwanzaa has seven core principles. #Repost @coachkay101 • • • • • We don't realize the amount of ourselves we give away each day. 💛 I recently had a client do an exercise to help visualize it and I'll challenge you with the same. Find two bowls and get a box of Cheerios (generic works just fine). Label one of the bowls with your name and the second Other or Outside. Each day you come home, reflect back on your day then place a Cheerio in your bowl for as many things as you've done that benefited you and then do the same for the second bowl. 🖤 If you do this for about 30 days you'll see just how much of yourself is given away each day. Now this client had a young child so she was already not working with a full fill of self. If you begin to see a pattern of uneven bowls, you need to make a shift. Accepting the word No in your routine vocabulary is a great start. Revisit your diet and exercise plan, are you doing what's best for your? Look left then right, are you surrounded by people that mean you well? Read the labels of your everyday use products, are the ingredients safe for you? 💛 How so you practice self care?
