Oh ya I saw that, it's pretty sweet. What made you choose the specific animals for each character? (Sorry for all the questions lol)
Carolina: I made Carolina a doberman because dobermans are dogs that are built for speed and are very sleek and beautiful but they’re often trained to be guard/attack dogs. They may be beautiful but they’re also very intimidating which I thought fit Carolina.
York: I made York a mutt because he fits that lady and the tramp image of a mutt. He’s got the mentality of a bad boy even though he’s not one and I just thought mutt fit him very well.
Wash: Ravens are very intelligent birds but they’re also incredibly silly. They invent games and entertainment for themselves and just do generally adorable things. But they also have a very dark symbolism to them. They symbolism death and Wash has definitely had a change from adorable and silly Freelancer to the deadly war hardened Wash we know now.
Maine: The man purrs goddammit I couldn’t not make him a big cat. And I know a lot of people say he’s more like a bear but I honestly don’t see it. But yeah I made him a tiger because it’s one of the more bulkier big cat species and it was between that and Lion but then I’d want to give him a mane and I don’t think Maine would be cool with that he seems to like having his head shaved.
North and South: I knew going into this I wanted them to have the same animal. No the animals are genetic (obviously look at Carolina, Tex and Church) but I feel like with twins and siblings it’d be more likely to have similar, if not the same animal. So I wanted to find an animal that fit them both. Now bears are known for being very protective I mean who hasn’t heard the phrase “mother bear” and I thought that fit North’s character very well. So then we got South who is aggressive and intimidating like ok I don’t know about you but if I meet a bear of South in the wild I’m tripping whomever I’m with and running for it.
Connie: Squirrels are hoarders, they’s also sneaky and can find their way into places people don’t want them to be in (walls, chimneys, attics ect). Also I thought Connie with a squirrel tail and ears was too adorable of an image to pass up.
Wyoming: I made Wyoming a hawk because he’s a sniper get it he’s gotta have “hawk eye”. Also he’s English and there seems to be a big thing with falconers being English so yeah.
Florida: I made Florida a red panda because I thought it would be cute. I mean imagine him with that tail and those ears omg what a baby. Also red pandas are adorable and Florida is adorable so it fits.
479er: I made 479er a falcon cause she’s a pilot and falcons are the mascot for the Airforce so I thought it really fit her.
The Councilor: He’s an owl cause owls are very wise but also predators and the Councilor may be smart and wise and shit but he’s pretty fucked up. I mean he blew up an entire state just to hide what happened to one dude. Like wtf Councilor I thought you were the sane one.
Tex: I considered making Tex a wolf but wolves are pack animals and Tex never worked well in a team. Instead I made her a coyote. Coyotes, like wolves, are predators and it’s very scary when you’re walking alone and you see one (been there). Also coyotes have a large population in Texas so I thought it fit her theme as a character
Church: Actually my friend decided he’s a weasel because I couldn’t think of anything. I just like the idea of him annoying Tex and her going “Hey Church, do you know what coyotes do to small fluffy animals?”
Tucker: Rabbits hump anything. Like that’s the most popular stereotype and also I like the idea of Tucker with bunny ears.
Caboose: Have you ever met a golden retriever like I see no difference between Caboose and a golden retriever puppy
Sister: Foxes are generally sexualized animals and that was really the only thought into this pair up. I wanted to make her a rabbit originally but I didn’t want he and Tucker to be the same animal.
Sarge: He’s a warthog because of the Red’s main vehicle and because I thought it was funny.
Simmons: I made him a chihuahua because I find him annoying yet still kinda cute.
Grif: Pigs are actually really smart animals. But they’re still lazy and eat a lot. I thought that sounded a lot like Grif.
Donut: The scarlet macaw is a very flamboyant animal.
Lopez: My friend made me make him a pangolin
Doc: Koalas are cute. Plus eucalyptus.
Felix: Martens are adorable and idkw but I thought it fit really well.
Kimball: Eagles are very powerful animals and demand a lot of respect just by how they move and act. I feel Kimball is the same way.
Locus: I wanted him to be a scary reptile and I felt a komodo dragon fit really well.
Jensen: I don't know it's adorable and gives her adorable teeth to account for the lisp
Smith: I honestly have no explanations for most of the new characters they just seem to fit
Bitters: House cats are lazy and assholes but in a good way
Palomo: I wanted him to be similar to a rabbit cause Tucker is a rabbit
Doyle: Goats faint
Grey: idk I thought it was cute
