a crush and a blush
I am holding RvB down in its grave with both of my arms.
"Scar?" Maine asks. His voice is soft. An odd rush of shame swims through him. He rubs the knotted scar reflexively, fingertips bumping against Maine's. "That was from the Meta." Maine stills for a second, two, and then he slowly shakes his head. "Me." Before Wash can protest, counter, anything, Maine goes on. "Meta aimed lower."

i made a mistake (thinking about restoration again).
i am once again reiterating that grif and simmons really really really really needed to not be around each other for a while if they were ever going to make progress on being better people to one another.
even though restoration had its issues, i think its endgame demonstrating that they do actually like and care about one another THEN setting them up to be away from one another (with no reason they couldn't someday reunite) was way healthier for them than the "everyone on the blood gulch crew lives together forever and ever" endgame a lot of fans wanted.
