Every so often I think about that ridiculous ambitious fic I started and never finished (and likely never will -- the thing about writing a fic where every character is someone's OC is that shifting dynamics between the real people makes me feel uncomfortable about the idea of revisiting it) and how batshit off the rails the plot was.
I still get a bit sad that going to uni and getting depression meant I never finished writing my OTP magnum opus about a world stuck in an unstable time loop as part of a metaphysical detective story to apprehend a rogue god who'd razed heaven, and the ultimate effect of all these metaphysical dominoes was "two men meet by chance and fall head over heels in love, and that made all the difference." I think if nothing else, saying that this was the thing that consumed my brain when I was 17 years old explains so much about me as a person.
