“know that we’ll still have each other.”

Magnus can say whatever he wants, Taako doesn’t believe it. It’s the end of the adventure. They all have different plans. That’s just how it goes, y’know? There’s nothing to be ashamed of if Maggie wants to move on from this rough patch and settle down somewhere with fifty dogs and no chaotic wizards to ruin his Saturday. Really, it’s totally fucking understandable. It’s what Taako would do if he could get away from himself.
It’s nice of him to pretend.
But that’s all it is. There’s just no fucking way a guy like Magnus would choose to hang out with Taako if given the choice. So far, no choice has been given, but here it is: a chance to be free. Magnus would be a fucking idiot not to take it.
So Taako twirls the umbra staff and says: “Jeez, dude, way to make this sound like a funeral. Should I get you some tissues or somethin’? I’m not having you cry all over this look.” He gestures to his ensemble, fashionable as always, more-so than it has been for a while, actually, on account of the lack of wear and tear.
