May i ask you what is your opinion on the best ship in rain world Survivor x Monk (i'm not biased at all)

Ooh, well, I have a decent amount to say I think. Fried Eggs was, I think, kind of my introduction to taboo-related ships in Rain World other than hearing about Moonstone. For a period of time I was very into Fried Eggs and even wrote two fanfics on AO3 about it and I used to send in a bunch of confessions about it to the old RW confession blog before it got shut down. Even though I don't think about it as much as I used to anymore, I still think it's one of the best Rain World ships. Pretty much every other slugcat has never met each other, so Fried Eggs is one of the few that actually has a bit of canon chemistry. I think there's a lot of different routes you could take it, and I think a lot of them are good.

Quick context regarding pronouns I use in this: Most of the slugcats have fluid or semi-fluid gender identities, and while in actual fanfics I'll prob try and keep the pronouns consistent, out of fanfics like on this blog I tend to use whichever pronouns or characters I feel at the moment.

As for the route this AU is likely going to take it, this is spoilery technically but who knows if I even will get around to writing the Fried Eggs part of my AU but the way I see it going down is that Survivor will have a crush on Monk, but tries to repress it and hide his feelings, meanwhile Monk slowly also begins to crush on Survivor but Monk doesn't really understand taboo in the same way Survivor does. So Monk would begin to help Survivor raise the pups from the OE ending, basically becoming a second parent. One of my problems is that I keep making ideas for the AU but I don't fully think out the timeline and lore, and while I want to generally keep the lore not that canon accurate or super serious since this is more so a way for me to vent some feelings, I do gotta at least keep things having an order of events since I hopefully want all of the fics in "Slugenerates" to take place in the same universe/timeline. So while I'm unsure if I want Survivor and Monk to get together before or after meeting the other slugcats, I've been kind of leaning towards after because I want to play around with the polyamorous nature of most of the characters in my AU and maybe like show how hearing about and seeing Monk get into all these different relationships makes Survivor feel. And I think these feelings Surv has would reach some of their worst one Inv comes around. In my AU Inv is prob going to be like a warped/messed up version of Surv from an alt timeline or something that has been fucked up due to some thing I haven't thought of an explanation for yet. But Inv is a lot more mentally gone than Survivor and obviously if Surv has feelings for Monk, an alternate version of him would as well. And I think Inv wouldn't tell anyone that she's a warped version of Surv at first cause she wants to hit it off with everyone not under the pretense of "you're friends with this one guy, and I'm basically him sorta so you HAVE to be friends with me" and sorta wants to form her own identity before telling anyone. But I think she'd eventually tell Surv about it, and starts also romancing Monk & stuff. So Surv gets put into a predicament where he can't tell anyone what Inv told him cause he's worried about how Inv's actions will reflect on him, even though he knows he doesn't share all the same feelings and desires as Inv but he's mostly worried about the Monk stuff since that IS a feeling him and Inv both share. But I think Surv would struggle and be upset with what Inv is doing with Monk, before eventually getting more accepting of himself for feeling this way before whatever event I decide to write ends up happening and Surv and Monk get together.

An idea I've had that doesn't relate to Survivor as heavily as it does to Monk is for Monk to MAYBE eventually get sexual with his and survivor's pups? This comes back around to me mentioning about I want Monk to be more innocent in a way in the sense that he doesn't really get the concept of taboo so what's considered appropriate and not would have to get sorta taught to him over time by Survivor and the other slugcats, and Survivor is still kind of uncomfortable/freaked about by a lot of the taboo stuff that the other slugcats are into, which I think might make an interesting like, probably only mini-fanfic where Survivor ends up walking in on Monk having sex with the pups and Survivor is freaking out and like "wtf" meanwhile Monk doesn't get why he's upset and says that he was just playing with the pups and being affectionate. And Surv wants to stop Monk but is unable to bring himself to do it and continues letting Monk fuck them and has to know that sometimes while he's just doing stuff, Monk might just be off in another area/room getting it on with an alternate version of himself or their own pups.

Idk if you read all of this but if you did, thanks! I always like talking to people about stuff like this. I plan on exploring a couple other incest-y RW ships in this AU, some literal incest and some adoptive, so I kinda want to like use different ships to explore different kinds of incest dynamics and relationships I find interesting.

Tl;dr Survmonk is a very good ship and they'll most likely get to fuck each other's brains out at some point in my AU.

OOO More platonic ships? I really love Platonic ships so i'm always happy to have more. But i wanna make a suggestion it could be called "Lime Lemonade" since Lemonade is already Monk x Rivulet. But nevertheless thanks for the suggestion its been added to the spreadsheet. Post forthcoming.
