Summer just wanted her daughter to be protected no matter what and wanted her best friend who happened to be the headmaster of Beacon Academy to find love. The age would be difficult but she knew that they'd be the best for each other. That was why the marriage contract existed letting them be together no matter outside forces

Glynda didn't hate Ruby or Ruby and Ozpin being together, quite the opposite. She just worried it wouldn't work out and that it would give the council another reason the throw Ozpin out. The school was his life and she would protect it at all costs. She wanted the two to be happy but knew that this would just end in pain.

Ruby had always known of Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy, youngest headmaster in forever, the employer of her Uncle Qrow. He was someone she had always looked up to and she worked to find out more than she should've known. When he asked her to join Beacon it was a dream come true and it renewed her crush on him. Although crushes lasted 3-6 months and she had been in love with him for years. She knew it was not to be.

Ozpin: Ms Rose? May I help you with something?

Ruby: I know you think you're alone but I'll be here, for next time too.

Ozpin: What do you mean Ms Rose?

Ruby kept running into Ozpin quite literally. Ozpin found himself fond of the young woman who always seemed to be on his mind. He had agreed to help her in hand to hand combat and it was the highlight of his day. He knew he couldn't but he wished he could keep her. Little did he know she thought the same

Oz feels guilty about bringing her to school earlier because of all the pressure but damn she was so impressive

Oz fears she'll leave like everyone else, he was never good with others and it's been a long time since he's had a family
