⠀ Taking you back to 1984 with our RX50L Special #YamahaOfYesterday ride. In the early 1980s, Yamaha actually offered a two-stroke cruiser, or more appropriately defined, a mini-cruiser, which was the 1983-1984 RX50 Special. An off-shoot of Yamaha’s very popular “Special” custom-style cruisers, the RX50 Special utilized the same 49cc, two-stroke, reed-valve-inducted, Autolube oil-injected, single-cylinder engine and five-speed transmission as the YSR50 introduced in 1987, complete with the same air-ducted cylinder head. The RX50 was fully equipped with pullback handlebars, stepped seat with glove compartment in the tail section, chrome grabrail, upswept chrome megaphone exhaust pipe, teardrop gas tank, front disc brake, and full instrumentation with a speedometer/odometer and tachometer.
