10 - jake pressing the open button on the lift - the jimmy jab games 

this was such an underrated moment tbh but i think at this point jake was kind of,, giving up on the idea of dating amy and trying to move on, but he still wanted her to win and be happy and enjoy herself, which was really pure and adorable 

9 - first kiss - johnny and dora 

this was really soft and meaningful and honestly i love the way they react to the situation afterwards like?? neither of them have quite grasped what’s happening and they’re both kind of in a daze, the way amy kind of keeps her hands on jake’s shoulders for a second makes me really happy and jake is so speechless it melts my heart they were so far gone for each other already and that scene honestly encompasses that really well 

8 - romantic stylez - charges and specs 

this is the first of that group of scenes where jake confesses his feelings even though it’s really hard for him. he’s been holding back for so long and he lets it out a little and honestly one of the most painful parts of that is amy’s face when he walks off? i think she’s been into him for a while but pushed it to the back of her mind and when he brought it up it kind of hits her?? just so much happens in that one short scene 

7 - the entire episode - operation: broken feather 

from amy’s perspective this was a really peraltiago-heavy episode. i think this is the ep where amy realised she had feelings for jake. jake goes all out to show her how enjoyable working cases is and i think that while this goes on, she’s also realising how much she enjoys spending time with jake, their friendship has its little quirks, and he really does know her better than anyone else, and this shows. the little “i like where i am right now” at the end always makes me think that she’s very subtly communicating that she likes him.

6 - the baby talk - moo moo 

i just think that end scene is super cute, we just see them getting excited over the idea of having kids without having the Serious Discussion, it’s lighthearted but it’s meaningful (and honestly this would have made the list on that iconic look that jake gives amy alone) 

5 - i just care about being with you - the funeral 

this is another one of those times when jake steps out of his comfort zone to express his feelings for amy. she’s feeling so down i think bc she wanted it for a long time and it’s not going right, but jake stands up with this huge and (not very) subtle romantic gesture that he just wants to be with her and i think that’s really pure and important for their relationship? it doesn’t stop amy’s doubts and their relationship isn’t perfect after that, but it’s jake’s way of telling amy that he’s all in and i think it’s really sweet

4 - you can’t be afraid of success, you’re too good for that - chasing amy 

this was just a really beautiful scene in so many ways. partly because when have we ever seen a male/female couple this supportive of each other ever on tv, and partly bc we see how far they’ve grown. let’s go back to operation: broken feather when jake got really upset that amy would even think about going for a job that would transfer her in order to further her career. now he’s telling her that he supports her through it all and that character development is so important. it really shows amy’s commitment to their relationship as well - she was so career driven in the first season it was shocking, and while she’s still career driven and is still dead set on being captain one day, she’s taking her relationship into account as well because jake is so important to her too and i just think they’ve both grown so much in so many ways and that scene really shows it amazingly. 

3 - noice. smort. i love you too - the cruise 

who’s ready for some jake peralta angst!!! this scene covers so much. the fact that amy is the first one to say “i love you” is really important i feel, because a lot of the development of their relationship is seen from jake’s perspective. we still get amy’s view on their relationship but it’s more in snapshots, and i feel like it was really important to see amy verbalise that she’s that invested in their relationship. now let’s get to the angst at this point i think jake is still hurting and quite cautious after his break up with sophia. he’s been in love with amy for a long time and he’s been holding off from saying for a long time and why? because the last time he struck out and expressed his feelings like that for someone it was for sophia and it hurt him a whole damn lot. he loves amy so much and he doesn’t want to screw this up and so when amy says she loves him first he has to take a moment to process it. his noice, smort is taking a second to realise that she’s told him she loves him and he’s allowed to tell her he loves her too, he’s not going to come off as desperate. it’s a really beautiful moment and there’s a lot going on in that really tiny moment. 

2 - the roof - the bet 

this was so adorable. we’ve seen the jake/amy chemistry through the first half of the season but they’re both pretty oblivious to it. the roof scene is when jake realises that he’s actually fallen pretty far for amy and he’s not getting out of it any time soon. he’s in denial for a little while after it, but that was the moment where he first kind of realised that he didn’t just see her as a friend. it’s the moment when it all starts and it’s iconic 

1 - the proposal - halloveen 

this just. encompasses how far they’ve come honestly. just watching the speech, watching jake and amy both just grinning wildly and crying and being so in love was beautiful to watch and honestly everything they deserved from a proposal. it was an amazing moment and it felt so real and it was honestly perfect

5 - the humour 

they always have a laugh together and that makes me so happy, also the fact that they have a really good and funny dynamic is a gr8 

4 - the missing each other 

i just wanna cry abt the photo of them on amy’s desk and the printed out photos that jake has on his wall in witness protection and prison 

3 - the trust 

we dont see how much they trust each other in the field much but i was just thinking abt when amy shoots jake in the leg and honestly i would never trust anyone enough to have that as a back-up plan 

2 - the pining 

obvi i love jake’s pining but also amy’s subtle double tuck and trying to hide smiles around jake and ugh i love them so much

what would jake and amy be without their heart eyes honestly they mean so much to me
