   --- What better day to see that lazy detective appear and say some nonsense? The truth, however unkindly he did, he did not seem to stop making stupid jokes. He was bored and his victim was that novelist who used to follow Ranpo everywhere. When he had asked that, he drew it in a part of the page where Poe was writing. How childish, Dazai.

"Poe," Kunikida spoke out to him. He gave him a case file.

"We have a mission together. I know your usual partner is Ranpo but unfortunately he is busy with another case. So you will be my partner for this case. We are going to go to meet with the client. You can read the files in the car. I don't want us to be late."

The woman knelt down, softly sighing. It had been too long since she had been here. But coming only made her feel terrible. With a bow of her head she let a hand gently caress the tombstone. 

“Hey there, mom...”

He’s not really sure why he did that. 

(He is sure, but he’s not going to think about the familiarity of seeing someone writing and how he let that familiarity get away from him for a moment.)

“Didn’t mean to scare you,” he says by way of apology, turning the hand resting on Poe’s shoulder into a brief pat before he withdraws to lean against the desk beside him. His hands rest on the desk to either side of himself, head turned to the side so he can glance at the writing. “Anything good?” It’s a simple question—one easy enough for a writer who wants to get back to writing to dismiss. Impulse says to pick up and page through the pages, but this isn’t that, so he doesn’t.

A few days, that’s for how long she has been with the agency. She was still not used to her new environment and was just walking through the office. Currently she had nothing to do ( although this might change soon, she never knows. ) and found herself walking from one desk to the other to have small conversations with the people and introduce herself. She hadn’t really talked much to most of them on her first few days because she was nervous and didn’t know how to start a conversation with most of them but now that she slowly started to feel comfortable around them, it was necessary for her to get to know everyone. 

She stopped in front of his desk and looked at the papers, then at him, before a little smile appeared on her face. “Hello! I don’t think I introduced myself to you yet. I’m Alicia. It’s nice to meet you!”

   The white-haired boy floated in front of the dark haired man, looking at that piece of cake. After developing the sense of taste, apparently he liked to eat sweet things. He patiently waited for the other's response, though perhaps he surprised the other by his sudden appearance.

    ⇀  He felt a gentle hand run through his hair, and strands being pushed way out of place. Strange, it didn’t feel violent nor bad? Jumping slightly, Poe quickly turned to see who would do such a weird thing.

          ❝ A-ah! Dazai-san, I didn’t see you there….what are you…doing? ❞

“ah, sorry, sorry.”  he pulls his hand away, reluctantly.  “i couldn’t help myself.  you’re just like - a gloomy little duckling!”

together with his raccoon, the two really do resemble nothing quite so much as a pair of story-book animals.  dazai can easily imagine them traveling through the countryside, going on mildly exciting adventures and drinking copious amounts of tea.
