So after finding a name to research I found the designer :). I found a independent Ted talk by Ryan Germick explaining how he became a Google Doodler.
Bullet points of the talk...
1. Wearing funny costumes
2. Move to India
Germick has wore a lot of mad outfits and costumes (and the rest of his family are on the same level when it comes to mad costumes!)
His favourite Google Doodle is the Bob Ross Doodle.
The Pacman Doodle was the first using full interactivity of the web.
He created his first web page Ryanayana so he could share his photographs with his family in America from India.
He designed what I call the drop and drag man on Google Maps (you should see the state of my little drop and drag man on my notes!)
At the time of the video being shot in May 2013 there were around 15,000 Google Doodles.
If you have just read my notes you well should have just watched the video its a lot more interesting!
The other day Ryan Germick and his colleagues sat down in the California sunshine fantasized about materials they’ d never worked with. “Dirt” said one, and the others agreed that he should try it.
