"I don't know how you watch the Rodney Hinton court procedures and not come away knowing that the police are just a gang. They're not even subtle about it. These are very clearly mafioso tactics. First thing: Cincinnati is not a small city - there's a lot going on there. So how is it possible that 20 to 30 cops have the time every single day to sit in this courtroom not doing anything, just intimidating this witness? And by the way, while they're sitting around being an active detriment public accountability, you're paying them to do that. You might even be paying them overtime.

I once went to see Angela Davis speak, and she said that the United States has been in an unemployment crisis for decades since the 80s, and the way that that's been hidden is through the carceral state - the disappearing [of] millions of people behind bars. And then, of course, David Graeber has this idea that we've just been pumping the economy full of these fake jobs. Police are the perfect intersection of the two. Police are a taxpayer-funder criminal organization with the only objective of protecting the wealthy. It is a state-funded jobs program for those who are screened for low intelligence and for low empathetic practices. They don't stop crime, they don't solve crime, they barely investigate crime, and when they turn around and commit crimes like this racist broad daylight execution, everyone turns around and looks at you crazy for pointing it out and trying to rectify the social contract for your own self.

We are paying for the destabilization of our own society. Is that not crazy?"

Last week 18 year old Ryan Hinton was murdered by a Cincinnati police officer. The following day, his father allegedly ran over a sheriff deputy after witnessing the police body-cam footage of his son's murder. GoFundMe has a campaign set up supporting justice for Ryan, but any that put money towards supporting his father's legal battles while being held in jail and being beat by police are being taken down. Gofundme said the reasoning was that supporting assassinations of police was "too far".

I made a post linking a gfm that while it is not a scam, the step-mom of Ryan Hinton and wife of Rodney Hinton has said that the money will not go towards supporting her, her kids, or Mr. Hinton. So in terms of a legal defense fund for Mr. Hinton, GiveSendGo is the only one.

Police showed photos during a news conference Friday of a semiautomatic handgun that they said he was carrying and another gun that was found in the car. One officer could be heard in body camera video released by police saying “he’s got a gun, he’s got a gun” before several shots were fired as Ryan Hinton was running behind an apartment complex. While the blurred images did not clearly show Hinton pointing a gun as he and the officer were running, Theetge said the officer told investigators that he had the firearm in front of him, it was pointed at the officer and the officer feared for his life. There was no indication that Hinton fired at police before he was shot, she said.

They always care more about the death of the pig than the Black and brown children the pigs kill. Ryan Hinton was only 18 and from reading this article you can already tell how the cops killing him by shooting him TWICE gets framed as just while the father's act is framed as unconscionable. As far as I can tell he has not been proven guilty either. No mention in the article that Ryan Hinton was Black. How are we supposed to condemn his father when we all know full well that his son's murderer wasn't and probably will not be brought to any kind of justice if left up to this racist system? I can't imagine the horror and pain his family must be in right now and I am fearful of the backlash they might receive now after this.

I saw this article today on AP and a search showed me this gfm that was made 2 days ago, not linked in the article.
