It probably sounds like a broken record, but this year my birthday gift to myself was buying more inked Archie Mega Man pages from Gary Martin.
Since having the majority of Issue 42 is a big thing for me, grabbed the 2nd page of Issue 43, which is the essential end of the Gemini Man battle from 42.
Then a nice run of pages from Issue 46, one that I haven’t had any pages from before. Most of these focus on the Break Man battle outside of Wily Castle (pages 9, 13, 14, 15), before a later page in 19 that is in the castle. Essentially it’s supposed to be from Wily Stage 2, as it’s after the Kamegoro Maker battle page. But it uses Hammer Joe from Wily Stage 1 to show how he got out of the sewer-like stage instead. Wily Stage 2 was pretty short, that the Rush Jet portion is probably the only memorable part, so I get that. We didn’t need nightmares of respawning Have “Su” Bee’s and Wanaan traps drawn, I suppose.
Next, page 15 of Issue 48, which is the cool part of Megaman 3′s ending where Break Man teleports in after Wily and Rock are crushed by falling castle debris. “Where is Dr. Wiley?... Oh no, too late.” Splat.
And what should be the final page, is from Issue 53. It’s the 2nd page, in which Guts Man calls Mega Man to help him move a few Robot Masters into the Robot Museum.
But wait, I got a special surprise bonus page this time! I was not expecting this, but on top of my purchases, he also gave me the inked version of this Spaz promo piece for Worlds Unite, featuring X and Sticks the Badger from Sonic Boom. Beyond appreciative of receiving it! You can also see there was a little alteration to Sticks’ mouth from the inked page to the final version below:
Slightly less aggressive. XD
