But there is a level of ignorance here which you have to allow for. Yesung and Ryeowook (and every other member as well, no need to specify) are /not/ bad people. They don't want to offend, they're largely very careful not to offend. A lack of education, and experience is what has allowed this to happen and it's entirely wrong that Yesung did that but you make out like it was malicious when they're victims of their society and their upbringing.

I’m not saying they are bad people.I’m not saying that it was a malicious thing.Yes it was ignorant, it was misguided, and while they might be victims of their upbringing, they have witnessed the backlash this kind of thing creates and should’ve recognised that painting your face black isn’t exactly popular and is going to receive negative attention. Even if they are uneducated about why.

I know they didn’t mean to offend but that doesn’t make it okay.

And fans jumping to defend them and argue its okay doesn’t help them become more educated. Yes, defend them from being just leaping at the opportunity to bash them, but also communicate an agreement that it’s not okay.
