*bursts through your door* AND ANOTHER THING. I'M NOT SAYING THAT ASH AND RYLAND ARE NOT COMPATIBLE AT ALL AS CHARACTERS. I FEEL AS THOUGH THERE COULD BE POTENTIAL THERE. I ONLY FEEL ROBBED ON PRECEDENT FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIP (AS ATTRACTION SEEMED TO ONLY BE IMPLIED IN EPISODES 5 AND 6 OF A SIX-EPISODE SERIES) AS WELL AS DEPTH IN THE CHARACTER OF RYLAND PAST HIS BOOGERBOSS LEGACY AND HIS CURRENT DEPRESSION. HE GOT CHEATED OUT OF THE AMOUNT OF CHARACTER EXPLORATION THAT THE OTHERS GOT AND I FEEL LIKE WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT HIM AS AN ACTUAL PERSON BEFORE WE CAN UNDERSTAND A BRAND NEW RELATIONSHIP LIKE THIS. THE LITTLE INFORMATION WE ARE GIVEN DOES NOT LET US DRAW A LOT OF CONCLUSIONS ABOUT WHO HE MIGHT BE ATTRACTED TO OR WHAT PARTS OF HIM ASH WOULD BE ATTRACTED TO. THEN AGAIN, ASH ALSO SEEMS LIKE SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T DO ROMANTIC COMMITMENT OFTEN. I STILL WILL HAPPILY INDULGE IN THE FANFICTION THAT COMES OF THIS. I WILL SUPPORT A REWRITE OF THIS. AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT I WILL PROBABLY DRAFT A ROMANTIC MUSICAL THEATRE DUET AT 2 AM INSTEAD OF FINISHING A PAPER DUE THE NEXT DAY. WHATEVER THE FUCK. IT'S JUST THAT, IF THERE WERE GOING FOR THIS, I JUST WISH IT WAS STRONGER IN THE SOURCE MATERIAL. I WISH IT WERE HALF AS STRONG AS THE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS ESTABLISHED. *picks up the broken pieces of your door* oh shit sorry about that man i can call my guy and see if he can fix that because that was my bad totally my bad

Ryland x Alex x Ash Headcanon because why not

They’re in a poly relationship.

That’s... really it.

The only fine details or scenarios I can think of right now is that at some point all three of them go in a bar. Ryland just kinda likes watching Ash and Alex get a little tipsy and slowly falls in love with them more. Maybe the two would come over and lightly smooch him and appreciate him for getting them back home later. And being a good boyfriend to them both.

Then they all head back to their apartment and Ryland would just be really gentle with getting them in bed. He’d make sure they get the big ol bed in his room while he crashes on the couch after making sure they’re all good.

If Ash and Alex wanna try making breakfast as a thank you, that’d be sweet, too.

While I’m at it, I’m kinda hoping Sam and Ash become real good buddies. I have an idea of what if Sam offered her place instead of Ryland and Alex’s apartment, and they just take on a hype-girl-Sam and chill-lady-Ash dynamic. I just really like besties who make up for the other’s packs and helps each other out.

And if we wanna put those two ideas together, San passes her a nice shirt or two to wear to Ash’s poly dates.
