Ryder: Hey love
Ryder: How are you doing?
Ryder: Work is passing as fast as a sloth :( But the puppies are cute
[Ryder has sent you 3 photos]
Ryder: As long as I don't name them, I won't try to steal one. Probably.
Worth Fighting For
Nothing about this situation was okay with Ryder. Wait, that was a lie. If his mom really did end up marrying Marley’s dad, then the thought of sharing a house wasn’t so bad. In his mind, sharing a house looked like sharing a bed with Marley every night, and that was definitely a pro. Everything else though sucked. No offense to Marley, but her dad was kind of creepy. When Ryder had first met the guy when he and Marley first dated, it had been a weird dinner that had mostly consisted of him being intimidated. It was every boyfriend’s worst nightmare. And yes, Chris Rose had shown Ryder his gun collection. His girlfriend’s dad was a freaking arms dealer.
But they had survived that. And he and Marley had survived a number of break ups, fights, and shit to get to where they were now. Things seemed like they were finally on the right track when their parents had dropped this bomb.
As soon as Melissa Lynn headed off for work at the hospital, Ryder had pulled on a jacket and went to grab his bike from the garage. It wasn’t a long ride across the neighborhood to Marley’s house, but the houses were obviously nicer in this part. They were the newer two stories. When Ryder arrived, he parked his bike just down the street behind some bushes. (It was his back up plan in case her dad showed up at home early.) As he reached the house, Ryder pulled the picked bouquet of peonies out of his jacket pocket to hold in front of him.

Marley: Hey.
Marley: I know you probably have plans on a Friday night and all.
Marley: But are you busy at the moment?
Marley: I could use someone to talk to. Or just sit with.
OCC: I like this story, it seems very interesting to see another approach to what happened in glee with Ryder and Marley. I would like to know what the plot? excellent work of both
OOC:
Hey there! Thank you for stopping by and reading the start of our 1x1. I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far. :)
Basically, this is like a re-do from the Shooting Star episode of season 4, with some adjustments to allow for a different outcome, obviously. There’s no real set plot that we have planned but we are writing in such a way to answer these questions we had for ourselves:
What would’ve happened if Marley had been with Ryder during the ‘school shooting’ rather than Jake?
What little and seemingly insignificant detail changes could’ve resulted in a different outcome?
How do people deal with the aftermath of trauma?
How are their relationships affected?
This story will be following how Marley and Ryder deal with the aftermath of their experiences, and show how sometimes the worst day(s) of your life can either build up your relationships or tear them apart.
Does This Darkness Have A Name? || Ryley
“Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred. How did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us, that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war? Hoping for their safe return, but knowing that some will be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows, swallowed whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?”
Marley wrung the strap of her backpack nervously as she made her way down the hall. She’d been feeling this lingering anxiety ever since Unique had confessed her secret to her, and it only seemed to become exacerbated after the confrontation she and Jake had had with Ryder the previous day. ‘I don’t want anything from anyone. Especially from either of you.’ The words were nagging at her, wouldn’t leave her alone all night. The intensity of them even had her calling Unique in the middle of the night, pleading with her to at least consider coming clean to him. “It’s the right thing to do,” she’d insisted. “You’re only hurting both yourself and him the longer you drag it out.” And with the promise that she’d confess, Marley had hung up and tried her best to get some sleep.
Still, there was no guarantee that things were going to end on a pretty note. And while Marley really had no business in getting any more involved than she already was... well, Ryder was her friend too. If there was some kind of way for her to soften the blow for him, for both parties involved, then maybe their group of friends wouldn’t be so quick to divide. Of course, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t find out her own involvement in this ‘catfish’ business, but... she had to try. She had to. If it meant some kind of resolution, then she would do what was necessary to help bring it about.
She found Ryder standing by his locker, a convenient corner turn away from the choir room, where she would be headed next. If luck was on her side, then Ryder would be joining her the rest of the way. Blowing out a breath, she approached. “Hey,” she greeted cautiously, waiting a moment to make sure he wouldn’t just up and walk away again. When it seemed he had no immediate intention to do so, she added, “You ran away pretty quickly the other day... I know you were upset and all, but... you know, I’m still here if you want to talk about things.”
How long does it take for you to get ready in the morning?
I haven’t timed myself but I can get ready pretty quickly. Sometimes I oversleep in the morning and have to get ready super fast since at that point, my mom is yelling for me and such. I just have to wake up, change, eat, brush my teeth, comb my hair, take care of hygiene stuff, and then I’m off. I’m probably missing something but that’s the basis.
