I've got about 15 trades to read, of various sizes, though no omnibuses, and around 30 single issues too. We'll get there eventually I guess. I have a week off in April so I'll make sure to use that wisely.

Yeah it wasn't fridging, and those who thought it was were being idiotic and completely wrong. Remender is doing wonders on that series, emotionally and narratively, and it's only going to get better going forth.
that seems just like a very kneejerk reaction, plus i think something like that has more to do with some people's personal vitriol towards Remender himself. i can't imagine someone actually reading that entire run, and then being so personally offended by Carter's fate in that way. But, i thought it was a fantastic story, just brilliant.

I recall a lot of complaining about the was Sharon Carter was characterized, that it was completely wrong. Also that she was fridged, which she totally wasn't. It was a lot of awful fangirly complaining because things weren't the way they wanted it.
i thought the definition of "fridging" was that it was a cheap plot device to spur the other (usually male) character to action. Cap wasn't spurred to action though. So far he seems just grief-stricken :(

I know I've talked about Thor GoT on here, and I personally love Remender's Cap (and everything else he does) but all I see about it here is hate, which is fucking ridiculous.
yes! that's why i threw in the "nearly," haha. you and one other person i follow have expressed their love :) but still, that's SO not enough people! EVERYONE who reads comics or likes Thor should be talking about it!
that's C.R.A.Z.Y. WHAT is there to hate??? jesus christ that story ripped my heart out man. people just don't know how to appreciate what they have. maybe i'm naive or just not critical or analytical enough or something but i think there's so much GOOD being put out. So many quality books being put out with extremely talented writers and artists. WAY more good than bad. I am SO excited for 2014 and all the new titles!
