"Abyss is..." Rynn struggles. Words of this nature do not come easily to him after so long of not having this sort of...bond. Not that he had no bonds. His 'brothers' of the guard. His prince. All important, loyal bonds. But Abyss is....

"Something I like about Abyss is so hard because how can I narrow down everything into one coherent thought easily expressed by language? Kind, giving, a heart so open to all I see them interact with that their own well being is seemingly always second. It makes me desire to put them first if they will not do it themselves. Like the moon to tide they pull me along and I...haven't felt so free."

"I like tea together, I like conversation, their love of animals and all nature, how all life from a dragon like myself to a small flower receive the same care. I like...having a place I can go and I always feel received warmly. Should I lose such a place, the warmth of them...their home, I feel I would truly be lost. Saying I like the entirety of them sounds almost...fake, but I truly mean it wholeheartedly."

Rynn knew this mortal custom! He recognized the plant immediately, remembering when Ada had excitedly told all the guard about it and how she'd received the sweetest kiss on the cheek. So when he notices it, standing beside Abyss, he doesn't want to be rude right? It was tradition is what Ada had said so he had to, correct? Besides, lovely and gentle Abyss, how could he leave them to feel unwanted when frankly...nothing was farther from the truth. The comfort that Rynn found in their presence, like a breeze over the water, air beneath wings, sunshine kissing the petals of a wildflower. Freshly baked bread and hot tea with just a hint of honey. Abyss. A comforting presence whenever they met.

His motions are slow, hesitant, unused to contact such as this, to reaching for a hand and letting clawed fingertips take a gloved hand in his own. Was this too bold? Was this touch unpleasant? Rynn has so little experience in such things that just the touch of hands makes his skin warm. The feeling of a hearth, fire in ones' throat, lit candles. His skin feels the low heat of their touch and he's l;eft wondering how skin to skin would feel. But he can't get distracted now, he's upholding tradition.

Bringing the gloved hand upwards, he lets his face dip down, lips gliding across Abyss' knuckles in a gentle caress before turning the hand over to press another to the inside of their wrist.

"Mistletoe." Rynn murmurs when he straightens up, hand still in his gentle grasp. "I...did it correctly did I not?"
